To summarise the comments and FAQ thus far: - No he doesn't need spotters. What exactly would they do? He'd just dump and run, they're bumper plates. In any case, he made it. - No he's not done powerlifting, and no he doesn't look like a bodybuilder, he's a weightlifter. Hopefully your brain hasn't melted. - No it's not bad for the knees. Go and try to understand again where the bounce comes from. - He tore his hip labrum and he's had surgery and now he's back warming up with your max. - Your advice (broscience o.e.) is worthless and you embarrass yourself when you write it. Furthermore whoever operates the AverageBroz account is adept at burning people, so just compliment and move on.

@netfischer

guyrelax sure being a couch potato is really bad. decreased bone density that's a risk factor for osteoporosis potential overweight etc... But I never made a case against lifting. What no one wants to understand. I am just being objective, again I am an athlete myself. People just don't understand that athletic performance isn't directly linked to health. Everyone who´s a high level athlete knows what kind of stress and fatigue is required to force adaptions at these high levels and sometimes you are going to jack your shit up, unfortunately. Overuse also plays a role. Competitive sports and injury go hand in hand.

Dude the best time to lift weights is when your 16-21 years old man,pretty sure you have the highest testosterone levels you're ever going to get naturally.
@jamesfortner9695
8 жыл бұрын
+Ty Louis that's not true Testosterone peaks at about 30 which is also when most see their best lifts. Really at about 35 when Test is a little past peak but they still have the hardened bone & mature Muscle. But it's not unheard look at Eric Lillerbridge he hit a 900 lb deadlift on his 24 bday.
@minotaur55
8 жыл бұрын
James Fortner I don't think there is a direct correlation between testosterone levels and strength or even size. For example there are test boosters out there that will take you to the natty limits yet they don't give you any gains whatsoever. But when you inject 10 times the amount of synthetic hormone it's enough to make a difference. Eric is a beast but a bad example for natty test levels and strength :)

A freaking beast and my inspiration! I have two questions though: 1. I want to start ATG as well, I've started doing it at my warm ups [75X5, 90X5, 105X5] and it was pretty nice, but when I tried that with my set [136kg] the ATG was way too hard to go up from, because the weight just crashed me to the ground. Does it change after getting used to ATG? I mean, does RM1 feels like RM5? 2. Why ATG guys hold the bar so narrow if HB requires narrow holding to keep the chest up? Thanks a lot.
