Hello Luke, thank you so much for making these videos with short stories, you are absolutely BRILLIANT, a great actor and imitator! I have seen and listened to your Mountain and this RD eposode only, but I can´t wait to hear the rest that is here for me... This time I tremendously enjoyed Parson´s Pleasure, as Roald Dahl is in my view the best English short story writer (not speaking of his autobiography The Boy and Flying Solo!). To my big excitement you even inspired me to watch the Tales of the Unexpected - I didn´t know anything like that existed!!! I watch your videos instead of watching TV, it´s such delight and fun. Please continue. Lots of admiration for this not so easy job and love from Prague!👋👍

@@LukesEnglishPodcast More, more, more stories, please. I am from Ukraine and now I am in another country, and I feel very uneasy and uncomfortable with my English. Your stories are very good, and your teaching skills are amazing. I have an English teacher, but I could not even compare them to you because you are far above them. I prefer video because I am a very bad listener, my mind often wanders, and when I see words, I can gather my attention again. I am a visual person. Let me explain. When I am listening to something, my mind sticks to one word, for example, you say "George's house," and I have a friend named George, and I start thinking about him, and oops! I am out of the plot. It never happens when I am watching video,. I need something to look at, and I really appreciate your acting skills. The way you tell stories and express emotions makes the story much more entertaining.

Since you showed interest in learning about antiques in the cities we know; In Rio de Janeiro there was an old neighborhood, in the city center, full of little furniture stores sold as second-hand. Then a company built a large office building in the region. Rents rose sharply and the stores that survived became sophisticated antique shops, ruining the chances of the middle classes buying there.

Many thanks, Luke, for sharing the story "Parson's Pleasure." I have watched it twice and thoroughly enjoyed the show. It is truly an amazing story, and the way you presented it helped us understand its deeper meaning. The story imparts valuable lessons about honesty, fairness, and kindness. It reminds us that greed and selfishness can often lead to unexpected and undesired outcomes, as depicted by the antique furniture dealer in this story and in real life in general.
