Hi Luke! I am from Poland. I have been listening to your podcast for two months. I discovered your podcast by chance on KZitem. It is hard to describe my English myself. I have improved my English a lot by listening to your podcast. I stuck for a longer with Close Encounter with a Bear. I have memorised the story by working on pronunciation for several weeks. In my opinion, memorising whole sentences is the best way to learn. Besides pronunciation, I also improved my listening skills. I have learned that correct pronunciation automatically helps to understand others. Because I have a long story in learning English, I was surprised that in such a short time, I have been able to see such progress. Of course nothing for free. I spent many hours on it. It was not easy at the beginning. Anyway, there is much more to learn, such as grammar, vocabulary and more. But the most important thing in learning English I know is repetition. There is no shortcut. I enjoy learning English through your podcast Luke, because this is the most effective way for me and at the same time pleasure. And believe me, I had been trying everything to improve my English. There are a lot of podcasts to go through and definitely I will enjoy the crime story. Answering your question of why I want to improve my English, I always wanted to use this language fluently and I think I will need it in future. Thanks for being and your podcasts which are mostly dedicated to English learners.

Hi Luke, I am from Thailand and have been listening to LEP for about 4 years, not sure if I was a ninja because I think I have commented so far 2 times 😆. I happened to find your channel on KZitem by chance while scrolling through it, and was really into your way of speaking, I mean your accent, because at the time it might be my first time hearing the British one which I later realised it is quite easier for me in terms of pronoucing words, intonation and so on, than the American one. Currently, I am at the C1 level based on my IELTS result a couple of months ago, and honestly it is really because of LEP. I have learnt so several things from this channel listening to yours while driving and running mostly, Many thanks Luke. The reason why I want to improve my English is because there was a time when I had to go to the USA having some courses, and I felt quite confident in my skills. However, Most natives there could not understand my speaking, I realised it later that the problem was my wrong pronunciation and intonation, so after then I had started learning all the basics and happened to know the phonetics of English and your Channel. It is going to be a long one sorry Luke😂, the episodes I really love are those when you are podcasting with Paul and Ember, the LYING GAME in particular. And the last one lol, my fav colour is BLUE, the asking of the size of the coffee in this ep really made my day, Thanks Luke, by the way, I have been trying to listen to all the eps of LEP on apple podcast app, after succeeding in doing so, the next ones are going to be the premium ones I promise. Hope I could join your stand-up show some day. All the best, Luke

Hello, Luke! I've been one of your ninjas for a year, and I think it's time to come out of the shadows by answering the questions you suggested in this episode. I'm a 20-year-old student from Ukraine, and I discovered your podcast by accident when I was looking for materials to learn English after suddenly moving to another country. My level of English was terrible-I couldn't even link words into a sentence and didn't understand much spoken English. By the way, now I live in Lapland, which is kind of ironic when you ask, "How is it in LEPland?" I've tried many materials and podcasts but couldn't stick to any except yours. I appreciate the length of the episodes, variety of topics, and constancy. I'm more of a listener than a viewer because it gives me the opportunity to do other things: I listen to you at work, at home, while walking, and while cooking. But sometimes I also like to watch the video version, as it helps me to catch words properly. I used to use the Google Podcasts app, but it's not available anymore, so I've installed the LEP app, which is quite convenient to use, I must admit. I'm not a premium listener yet, but I'm going to become one as soon as I figure out how to subscribe because your work is truly impressive and deserves support. I feel like my level of English is somewhere between B1 and B2 now, and it's a big improvement all thanks to you. I could listen to you all day, and even though I haven't been a LEPster for very long, it feels like I've known you forever. You're a truly inspiring person who knows his stuff. I wish to meet you one day and thank you personally because you have had the most significant influence on my English learning journey. The best way to learn a language for me is through listening, shadowing, and writing down new vocabulary. It helps me a lot. I like your rambling episodes and the ones where you explain jokes, but my favorites are the episodes with Amber and Paul (the citizenship tests, lying games, and the one about toilets are the best!). The moments I really enjoy on the podcast are the humour, guitar playing, imitating other voices and accents, and also repeating phrases from other episodes, such as 'I have a very particular set of skills😎.' All of that makes the whole atmosphere really cozy and homely, like talking to an old friend. I usually manage to listen all the way to the end of each episode in one go because I really enjoy listening for as long as possible (sometimes even 3-4 episodes in one go, so I guess I'm that one crazy nerd skeleton). My dream is to improve my English a bit more to the level of understanding jokes and come to one of your stand-up shows one day. Your constancy and passion for your work are really impressive. I wish you all the best and hope you never lose that spark of creativity that makes you yourself. And for whatever this information is needed for...my favorite color is blue, and the average wing speed of a fully laden African swallow obviously depends on the weight of the sea urchin. Have a good holiday time in advance!

Hello, teacher Luke! I am from Argentina and I want to tell you that I am not a ninja because I had written to you my comments and I had received likes for them which made me feel happy, knowing that someone had read. I have been listening to LEP for about two years and it started when I found your LEP by chance, on the youtube channel, while I was searching how to refresh my English. I am 64 and I had my Certificate of Merit as a Professor of English when I was 19, as you see, a long time ago. Now I want to improve my English in order to prevent my brain from terrible illness like Alzheimer or madness and the best way is by listening to your podcasts that are always interesting and useful because you are not only the best English teacher that I have ever heard but also a genuine and authentic human being. I do not like s.fiction genre at all but The Simulation was a good one, principally by the non ending final. This is a good strategy to improve the creative and writting of your learners. Referring to the moments of your Episodes, I must say that the introductions are the best. The presentation makes listeners keep their attention along the whole story and is the way that a good teacher starts the classes. Sometime, when the Episode is too long, I break it up into section and return listening later. I have forgotten to tell you that my favourite colour is light blue. Thanks again, teacher Luke for sharing your kindness and knowledge! Enjoy your holidays, have happiness and love, you deserve them!

Hi Luke! I am Abderrahmane. I am a Moroccan guy. I will start teaching English next September. I have been listening to LEP for nearly 5-6 years. I find it so interesting because you are one of the rare PODCASTERS who mix learning with fun and humour. I also like it that you invite other English speakers onto your podcast, which is by far one of the best things to do simply because conversations foster learning and help accelerate the learning process. In addition to that, we get to listen to your monologues, i.e Rambling Episodes, as you like to call them. I have to admit that I love your parents. Listening to them speak makes me relaxed and absolutely willing to hear more from them. Greetings to you and your parents! I would love to meet you one day for a bit of a chinwag. I have decided not to be a ninja anymore because of two reasons. Firstly, I appreciate your podcast, Luke. But the most important reason was the awareness that writing comments here lets me develop my English. I have no idea when I started to listen to Luke`s English Podcast. But I meet you in the episode with your conversation with Lucy, from English with Lucy. I visited your KZitem channel because of her but stayed for a long time. I follow your channel because of many reasons. I like your sense of humor, your voice tone is very nice and peaceful, and your English is understandable. Otherwise, I share your view about learning English. It is not only about the language. It is also about experiencing interesting and amusing content and you deliver it. I appreciate all episodes with guests. They give a variety of different accents and kinds of speaking English. Sometimes it is difficult for me to catch, but I try to be ready to understand various accents - not everyone speaks as clearly as you. But guests also bring a diversity of topics, backgrounds, and experiences. It makes my perspective wider and lets me choose content that is more interesting for me. I love Amber and Paul episodes. The chemistry between you is natural and nice. Your conversations are dynamic and funny. I also like episodes with members of your family. I`m especially grateful for so personal interview with your wife after your son's birth. I still have in my mind the episode, where you discuss with someone about broad games, especially about Eurobusiness. I also like ‘Learn English through a story’ episodes. I appreciate that you try to choose rides that are not only language-useful but also interesting. I still remember the story about an antique dealer, who pretends a priest, and the story created by AI about the world controlled by AI. Thank you for your work. Your content indeed influences my English skills.

Hello Luke! I came across your podcasts about 4 years ago. I couldn’t understand much but I got that you were the main character on the stage of English teachers. I like all your episodes, especially with Paul and Amber #866, 809, 791, 753, with Zdenek #849, with Stephen Devincenzi 861, 862, all the episodes with a short story of course, rambling episodes. Actually it’s hard to choose the best ones. I watch video versions when I’m at home and listen to on Spotify when being outside. I’ve been a ninja for quite a lot time because I’m very shy. But suddenly I realized that it had been unfair to enjoy your job and say nothing. Thanks a million! I always look forward to every next episode. My favourite colour is blue as the sky in fair weather condition. Have a nice holiday and come back to your lepsters! 😊

Hi, Luke! I've been a ninja for something like 8 years. I live in Brazil in a city called São Luís. I regularly listen to your podcast while i'm doing long walks on the beach. Years ago I was used to using Spotify, but now youtube seems to be more interesting. On the daily basis I listen to talk radios in London, uk, and I mix It up with luke's english and talk radios in paris. It's always intense in these two languages and i really love It. Thanks for been here, Luke

Hi Luke, I'm Enrique from Argentina. I've been listening to your episodes since 2020. I started with your early episodes, where you spoke a bit robotic, and look at you now-you're like the Jimi Hendrix of English. Cheers, Luke!

Hello, I am a new ninja as I have begun listening to your podcast just a week ago. Cambridge teacher Ben Gill recommended you among some others in his channel, and I find your rambling very entertaining and useful. I am a 63 student of C1 level from Argentina, who listens to podcasts while doing the housework, which has become not so dull now. So thank you! Another podcast that I find very amusing and good for my English input is "The Wittering Whitehalls". I don't know if I've answered all of your questions but taking into account my ninja personality please consider this quite a success😅Looking forward to listening to as many of your chapters as I humanely can, I say goodbye and thank you before returning back to the shadows

I’ve been listening to LEP for about 2 or 3 months I’ve been learning English for over one and half years.. and I don’t think that I’m a beginner. I’ve come a long journey. When I started learning English I didn’t know what the meaning of * can * is.. So now I can proudly say that I’ve improved my English. As I think I’m not an intermediate learner yet. I suppose I’m still a pre intermediate learner. Actually English has been a main part of our lives. Even in my native country we can’t have a job without English. So I’m learning English to work in an English country. And one of my biggest dreams is speaking English, understanding what others say, when I was young I mean about grade eight I couldn’t speak or understand English. I wished I could Speak or understand English like others. Actually ENGLISH was my one of favorite subjects when I was schooling.I started learning English. And unexpectedly I began to improve. So I began to understand what others say BUT I couldn’t speak. And that’s the challenge that I had secondly in my English journey. So I was so insecure because I couldn’t speak I tried and tried. So joined to a spoken English class in my country, it is held on zoom. So now I can speak English too. I’ve improved my English skills as well. Before I knew what to say but I couldn’t exactly say what I wanted to say. Now I can do that too. I’m glad about myself Yeah I listen to some other podcasts as well. But you’re the best. What works for me is keep Doing what I’m already doing. Actually I’m not doing something special. Just practice vocabs everyday. And listen to anything in English. And I always spend my life with English. For example whatever I watch on KZitem or any other social media, I watch them in English. And sometimes I read PDF books as well. Nowadays I’ve been reading Pinocchio’s adventure. And I listen to something in English like yours. And revise what I have already learned Over and over again. The things is I’m not stopping what I’m doing. I do that everyday. Frankly speaking, I’m a video viewer.😁 my favorite episode was the episode I watched of yours. But I can’t remember the name😅 Sometimes I watch it to the end if I have time. But if I don’t I just break it into sections. My favorite colour is purple and pink

Hello, Luke! I am one of those ninjas. I have discovered your podcast a few months ago when I was looking for TOEFL materials and could not help but been listening to them ever since on a daily basis. I listen to your podcasts for enjoyment mostly; however, I have learned a good amount of new vocabulary, reading strategies, text analysis, inferencing etc. (despite having received my higher education in the UK). Listening to your podcast, feels like having a conversation with an intelligent friend with a good sense of humour. While listening to your stories, I experience the widest spectrum of emotions - I find myself smiling, laughing, and sometimes crying. The stories you tell are sometimes very eye opening and thought provoking. Your time and energy spent to make each episode are highly valued! Please keep up the amazing work you are doing. By the way, I listen to you from Tajikistan, Central Asia🙂
