@LisaSaunders-k7o thank you so much for the coffees we really appreciate it. Please don't worry about being cold in winter, it really isn't that bad. You have the fire going 24/7 so it's constantly toasty on the boat...its spring that's colder as you begin to not have fire on and when the temperatures drop in the evenings it catches you out sometimes. I can honestly say I wasn't cold once in the boat in winter...in fact winter is my favourite season on the canals. Hopefully see you out on the cut one day. Good luck with the house sale 😊

Nantwich has so many beautiful medieval, Tudor and Georgian buildings and a stunning church in the square. The town is only a 10-15 minute walk from where you were moored. We moor our boat on one of the leisure permanent moorings just further on from where you moored. Hope you will come back and explore more. We're very friendly here and there's lots to explore like Hack Green Secret Bunker and the lovely Bee Sculpture at Snugbury's Ice Cream Farm ❤

Nantwich is lovely place and we did explore but didn't always film, we definitely want to revisit it for sure as no doubt we missed parts. We must have walked the long way as it took us a good 25mins to get to the town part 🤣 we must have gone around the block and travelled in circles 🤣🤣We actually went to snugburys (that's in next week's vlog) we didn't go to the bunker although saw signs to it, but wasnt sure if Ernie would be allowed as we don't leave him on the boat alone.

Your right about boat life who cares what goes on in the world and politics except that l hope Labour reinstates the funding for the canals, life should be laid back with no worries except were the next water and elsan point are. Hi Liz, Paul & Ernie! I am subscribed to lots of narrowboat KZitem channels, but have only recently come across yours. I cannot remember who recommended yours, but I am glad they did. Love your content, and the banter between you. I cannot understand why your numbers of subscribers are only about 6.9k. You deserve at least three times that number. Perhaps, when you ask people to subscribe, you need to tell them that it is free, that there are no catches, and that it will mean that KZitem will tell them when you next post. Stay safe, and keep them coming.

Hi there, I'm glad whoever it was recommended us, and we are happy that you've found our channel and enjoy our weekly videos. Its good to have you along with us on our adventures. Our numbers have grown steadily since we started the channel way back when we were renovating the boat, so in terms of videos I'd say half at the moment are renovation ones and half are since we've lived on it so we found we picked up a few people but also lost a few people that just wanted to see the reno side. Hopefully we will continue to grow steadily and as long as people enjoy the videos that's all good. Thank you so much for you kind comment though and it means a lot to us that you enjoy them 😊 😀

Hi Liz and Paul, thanks for your very entertaining and informative videos. As a foodie myself, how does cooking compare on a narrow boat and do you find limitations finding groceries? Have a great week?
@uponreflection
3 ай бұрын
Hi there, no limitations really with finding groceries as we still have a car so we usually drive 20-30mins to a nearby supermarket but I can imagine this being a different story if you didn't have a car. Cooking is very similar really as we have quite a large kitchen for a narrowboat so have plenty of worktop space, storage wise I'd say is the only real difference, storing less tinned and dry foods due to lack of storage. But other than that it's pretty much the same as in a house 😊

@uponreflection
3 ай бұрын
Initially my answer to this was a no...but actually upon googling I found some information stating that very few narrowboats used sails. Cuckoos used them on the River Trent when navigating up to Torksey Lock to access the Fossdyke in order to reach Lincoln and even Boston, so I stand corrected.😉😊
