Sober for 2 years 2002-2004. From 2004 to present, I drink occasionally but never got drunk. Went to a concert this weekend and ordered a beer took a few sips and dumped the rest out. I completely lost the desire to drink the smell of alcohol makes me nauseous, and I don't miss the buzz. I will always remember feeling like crap when I quit in 2002. The anxiety, restlessness. felt like my skin was crawling, insomnia, fear, insecurity and the shakes keep me from drinking. Prayers for the suffering alcoholic, it's a terrible way to live.

Alcohol and cigarettes addiction actually destroyed my life. I could remember several years ago after divorce with my wife which brought me into my disastrous journey on Alcohol and cigarettes. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.

From my experience it really works excellently! It doesnt even need to be a full hit. With potent shrooms 2-3 small ones will still make a clear difference. It will be a few hour cosy rumbling moment around rest time, but afterwards its just calm and you feel amazing and gain your freedom. Psilocybin is different dudes, its the only "treatment" I would recommend to someone who genuinely wants to get better. There is no addiction, withdrawal, or negative side effects. It's just pure healing., far more effective than any anti-depressant. You can thank me later,
@EthanEdward-wx7ut

I was horrifically depressed since childhood. It was relentless. I assumed it would ultimately end me somehow. About twelve years ago I randomly accepted the offer from a friend of a few doses of mushrooms. I did them two consecutive nights alone. First night was pretty mild. The second night? Wow. I saw my depression from every angle, realized much. Next day: depression totally gone. Never came back, never coming back. It's like it's a forest far away I can remember, and could probably find again with enough effort, but it has zero impact on anything in my life or mind. They honestly saved my life and improved it immensely. I never did them again, either. I wish there was a good, organized way to administer them to people who would benefit from them.

If you’re someone who drinks enough to the point that you’re watching videos of signs of alcoholism chances are, you have a drinking problem. Four years ago I was doing the same thing and every month I looked at videos like this I fulfilled yet another characteristic or sign that suggested that I was an alcoholic. The progression of alcoholism doesn’t stop or plateau, it only gets worse as time goes on. Do yourself a favor, take advantage of the situation and change your life. You’re here for a reason and now that you’ve compared and contrasted it’s time to reflect and rebuild. Good luck and God bless you all who struggle, alcohol is poison to the soul.

Watched a loved one turn to alcohol after a severe trauma,watched his brain turn to mush,alcohol dementia,watched him crap his pants constantly and not know it,watched him develope diabetes,clots in his heart valve,totally did not understand how bad he was,died in his sleep few months ago.he was 66,before the trauma he was avid outdoorsman,hiked,fished,hunted,gardened,woodworking,etc.he went from that to total recluse,only going to store for cigs and booze.everyone tried to help but he fought us all the way because his brain could not handle reality.saw him attack his loving,sweet,devoted grown daughter physically and verbally when before he had a hard time hurting a mouse.all this in a 5 yr span,he looked 80 when he died.i beg everyone who has been approached about their drinking to not turn away but run,fast,and get help.or u will die this way and the effect on your loved ones can never be erased

This video is on point, it took me over ten years to stop. I tried every method but I saw I was failing in life in everything, I stopped cold-turkey but it was had the fist three days to get over that anxiety but found out that if I drink water everyday and take antihistamine to calm my nerves plus they helped me sleep. Also I found that every time I thought about alcohol than I would say no and change my thought process other wise id talk myself into another drink until this day. I have been with out for thirteen months now and I feel so much better about myself and am achieving my goals I once neglected. Alcohol is not our friend but our worst enemy. Please stop for your self and the family around you.

My husband is a highly functioning alcoholic. The fact that he functions well I believe is what keeps him stuck in it. He always makes it to work early, does a good job at work, pays the bills on time. All this only deceives him he can handle it, doesn’t have a problem. But day in and day out it’s at least 20 beers before he goes to bed. Drinking also encourages his heavy eating with poor choices in food. He is 100 lbs heavier than when we met 16 yrs ago. He is now a diabetic and liver labs are showing disease. Not to mention I sleep in another room now because of very loud snoring, and also I avoid conversation with him in the evening, he becomes so angry and negative. Sadly it’s now wearing on my health from the worry that’s affected me, eating is painful and many tests are being run right now. With the bad result my husband just received from his doctor recently, I told him you have 2 choices now, you can choose life or your can choose death. Not to scare him it’s just that is a simple fact. It broke my heart hearing those words come out of my mouth, something tells me he won’t choose life, his loyalty is to his master🍺, he is a slave to it 😢. Please pray for him, please.

I had all of these and have been an admitted "alchy" for years. I've had FOUR DWI's and have been to a couple of high dollar treatment centers. It ended when I got drunk and od'd on booze and oxycodone, well beyond the prescribed amount. I developed a decubitus(pressure) ulcer on my buttocks and had to be hospitalized for blood toxicity. I had to have a device called a mahucar(proper spelling?) installed in my neck for multiple blood transfusions. I was told by the R.N. assigned to my case that my arterial blood gases were REVERSED(upside down on the laboratory findings) and not compatible with life. In short, I almost "punched out!" Whew, that was a close one. The ulcer healed, I got better and now live in a nursing facility. Life is good. I'd rather live a few more years. Now the only vice I have is cigarette smoking, but I'm damn lucky to even be alive.

I like to drink, never choose alcohol over meal, have hungover every time, I'm not nervous, I admit when I drink a lot that I drink a lot and ask friends to tell me if they think I drink a lot, when I reach a certain level of drunkness I imediately stop drinking even if my glass is full and go home (don't want to loose control), I'm never agressive but funny, I drink sometimes alone (always evening/night) and listen to music, never hide alcohol, I dont ever drink hard drinks, just beer and wine with water, and I am constantly wondering why must alcohol be so bad when it feels so good. Well am I an alcoholic?

I always thought "functioning" alcoholics were those who could hold down a job, get along with people like anyone else, and actually have social interaction regularly. The difference is that they allocate a block of time away from everything else so they can get their fix.

I'm a high functioning alcoholic which has decided to go to hospital on Tuesday to manage my withdrawals. I've been drinking almost a litre of vodka per day for a decade and I've been drinking since I was 17yo. Its expensive, unproductive and time wasting. While i don't react badly to it, and I don't have relationship issues I just can't imagine what it's doing to my body and I know I've made really bad money decisions while drunk. One thing I want drinkers to note: Drinking BROWN spirits is severely mood altering..and not for the better. It makes guys aggressive. Gin is a depressant (more people commit suicide on Gin than any other spirit). Wine sucks all the calcium out of your teeth and stains them. Vodka is the alcoholics weapon of choice. When you are drinking Vodka and water then you know you've gone waaay to far and you need a doctor or hospital to come off safely.

I drink routinely. Every Tuesday and Friday night and sometimes Sunday. I don't work the day after. When I do drink though, I can't stop. If I buy an 18 pack of beer, I'll drink through the whole thing in one night. If I buy only 2 beers, I'll steal my roommates booze thinking 'it's fine, I'll replace it'. Sometimes my drinking can be bad where I'm blacking out often. But usually my drinking is under control. My dad passed away recently from his alcoholism and it's a fear of mine that I'll follow his footsteps.

These 9 we're dead on, and I was functioning alcoholic. #2 was mostly correct, but the other 7 were very true. I'm an alcoholic 10 years sober. AA, my higher power, finding my bottom and being willing to change, no matter what, helped me. I do not miss the crazy chaos alcohol gave me and I allowed.

None of these apply to me. I like to drink and really struggle to keep it down to once a week and not every week. For a while I drank every night, hangover every morning. I want to get it under control again before I have to stop completely, so I can enjoy it occasionally. Having said that, the longer I go without a drink, the less willing I am to risk a hang over.

I used to drink vodka nonstop. Stayed up late 7 days a week by myself just sitting there doing nothing sometimes. Always took cranberry juice bottles to have drinks at work. It was both a cause and effect of other issues for several years. Only a few beers on the weekends socially now and I fortunately still have a healthy liver.
