I've owned a 17gt with mods and now went to a 97 gt with mods. I agree. You cant beat that feeling of such a mechanical raw machine. My s550 was quick I guess ( I came from a 500hp mitsubishi eclipse GST) that would blow the doors off of it even on a bad day so i wasnt real impressed ( had exhaust , ford power pack " 2" and a gpod tire. It just didn't feel lightning fast to me, so it went down the road. The 97 is no fire breather at all but ive enjoyed the little improvements with all the bolt ons that i did ( slp1 exhaust, bbk intake bbk 73mm, 3" aluminum driveshaft , p.i. intake manifold swap , shifter, coils plugs wires) its more fun to me . and once that coyote started doing that crazy ticking thing after the first oil change I got rid of it.

I love the sn95. Multiple options to go fast. Lightweight compared to newer cars/mustangs over 500lbs compared to IRS equipped mustangs that weigh almost 3800lbs. Mine weighed 3200lbs with a/c stock. Got mine down to 2800 lbs no a/c cause I live i NY. If I lived in Florida it would still be in my my car regardless of the weight penalty. Sleek design with wide hips. Love my sn95. Previously had a twin turbo ford racing boss block mated to a t56 magnum. Never saw a set of rear tail lamps on the street. Now switching to a 4l80e to be a more street/strip friendly car. @@billyray4716 just because he drove fox cars dont mean he had half the hp of a stock coyote. They had 225 rated stock but could get alot more without that much work. It wasnt uncommon for guys to be roaming the street in 300-500 rwhp fox bodies back in the day which are way lighter than newer stangs so that would be almost like the 700+ whp ppl are used to seeing today when you account for the difference in weight. The newer cars are a big upgrade stock vs stock and the ultimate potential is alot higher but not all fox mustangs are running around with 225 crank hp lol. I have a similar story...i had 3 1989 GTs...a 94 gt, a 95 gt with trickflow heads cam intake 10.5:1 compression built bottom end 4.10 rear etc...bolt on 97 cobra and a full bolt on 03 mach 1...all id ever had was the older cars between 89 and 03...never messed with anything newer till this year i got an 07 gt500...the s197 is a noticeable upgrade over the sn95 chassis cars but still has the raw old school feeling because solid rear etc. The tr6060 feels great with the mgw that is on it it feels like the top loader kind ive always been used to. I do love the newer cars tho. I would like to either coyote swap a new edge or get an s197 coyote car to go along with my gt500 in the future. Be cool to have a boss 302 also. Cool cars. That was a good era...has the modern badass coyote in it but has a solid rear and is much more raw than today's mustangs. My gt500 reminds me of my 97 cobra and 03 mach 1 because mod motor lol. That 5.4 4v sounds beastly. Im a big fan of the newer (for me) chassis. I like the updates but i can tell i wouldnt want it to be much more refined or updated than what it is. The older cars had way more character than the new cars. You can get anything to be fast some would rather have the older car they prefer with the raw ass power. These cars can make good power with the stock engine with a rod and piston upgrade they have the teksid block and forged crank etc. Coyote swaps are also super easy...the sn and new edge are both modified fox chassis cars but make no mistake theyre alot stiffer and better put together than a fox i have had multiple cars from both platforms. 5 lug stock way better brakes i mean you can get nice 96-98 cobras cheaper than beat to hell foxes and they are a MUCH better place to start with if modding to go fast and you wanna take on today's cars. For the money theyre great cars and you dont see them every day.

A swapped cobra would gap it prob being 300+ lbs lighter from the rip. Also it isnt only about how much hp you got or how fast you are. A nicely swapped cobra would stand out next to a sea of dime a dozen s550 cars that everyone and their momma has. Im glad you like your car man enjoy it...everyone has different needs and different expectations from their car. If it is a year round daily and your only car i could kinda see s550 making more sense but if it is not your daily and you just drive it on weekends or summer or whatever the case may be and you like the old raw feeling of these cars a swapped one makes ALOT of sense. I agree with the 4 eye. That's what I will own one day. My 18 Gt is nice and all but, I want a project car.

Fox bodies ended in 93. Those are called SN95. In not sure if there’s another monicker like fox body, but those are not fox bodies. Many drivetrain and suspension parts were interchangeable with fox bodies.

@@YDBT4LIFE I agree the hood looked great.But the 4.6 first gen 4.6 sucks.I bought a 97 cobra new off the lot with just 2 thousand miles missed one shift and the motor exploded.So I sold it and I finally got the cobra I really wanted is my vibrant red 93 cobra and I still have that car today.Yah I know the 93 cobras aren't fast but there icons from my youth and the value of the 93s especially in my 93s condition.There aren't many left all original with low miles like mine.If I wanna go fast I hop in my gt500 or my super snakes.Even my 04 Terminator is kinda fast.But in my opinion the 96 too 98 cobra motors were really weak.So many have blown motors.I even take a 94 95cobra over a 96 too 98.I love the push rod sound.

I never really payed those cars any mind when I was younger but I always had a thing for the new edge mustangs and then after my close buddy bought a new edge I really fell for that car and the whole sn95 platform I think you have to buy one to understand idk I get alot of hate for having one but the few people who do like it make up for it. They weren't perfect out of the gate but they are a great starting platform to make something amazing out of. New edge basically gave it all to you

I think it's a good deal too. It's pretty solid for what it is. Supercharge it and make 700. The fact that's it's a few hundred pounds lighter than anything coming out the factory today making up to 500hp means it staying ahead of alot of Light Bolt On N/A cars.

Power to weight and a good engine to make power?. I would go for it. I would offer 12k first tho
@midnight347

@@chadrichards8930 these cars go for 10 grand all day long with stock engines in them. A cobra is more desirable than a normal gt just for the uniqueness alone plus better brakes and other stuff. This isnt a bad deal. This car could hurt alot of feelings na with that old gen 1 truck motor. Idk wtf that matters the compression is slightly lower but the intake manifold and intake cams are the only other thing that matters power making wise vs a mustang coyote. All you need is a cobra jet intake and l&m intake cams...2-3 grand if you shop used and this thing could be a monster smoking alot of modern cars.

Dude they have alot of potential...upgraded rods and pistons away from making 1000 whp reliably. I love coyotes too but im tired of everyone acting like anything ford pre coyote aint worth a shit and dont have any potential that couldnt be further from the truth.
