Merry Christmas again, guys! What I wouldn’t give to try that St Peter’s Christmas beer… I’ve had a couple blonde/golden stouts, and they are definitely going for a blondie vibe. A lot of times the coffee notes are added via adjuncts That is a tall pour for 9.5%! Great gifts! Maybe that tap handle could serve as a tree topper in lieu of a star or angel. I think Lindsey decided that she wants one of those sweaters in unisex size S as my merch payout 😂.

The sweetness from the Gregorius may be the local honey that is used to make this beer. A unique character of this beer is a wine yeast is used instead of an ale yeast to ferment the beer. I personally love this beer. I age them 3 years and they are fantastic. The characteristics blend exceptionally well with age and its uniqueness really shines.

That’s so interesting about the honey! Thanks for letting everyone know. I can only imagine what kind of characters come out on this beer when you age it for a few years. Are there other beers you age as well?

Yes! Watching your christmas episodes is a tradition of my own now, so you better not stop making them. I'm very protective of my traditions 🤣 I actually have a collection of beer taps at home. One day I'll install some in a future home bar. For now they sit on a shelf and look cool. That St. bernardus tap is interesting, very unique one for sure.

So happy to hear that Jim. This is something Alessandro and I have been doing every year, since before we even had the channel. We’re very protective of our traditions too, I like that haha. It’s an honor to have you join us every year! Cheers friend 🍻

I've had a few different St. Peters beers and the cream stout is my favorite. Though not a true holiday beer, one I really miss this time of year is the UK's Theakston's Old Peculier, an old ale. Haven't seen it in Maine in years. Cheers, guys! Perculiar.

I’ve heard really good things about the Old Peculiar! I’ve never seen it available here in Canada, but I do intend on making a beer pilgrimage to the UK soon and having that one on cask is on my list.

Even if you only compare them to the more traditional breweries producing bottled ales and cask beer, I'd still consider St Peters to be pretty poor but I've not had the cream stout. A few of their beers are available in the supermarkets at £1.50 a bottle so ultra budget, I think it's the plumb porter, the bitter and the golden ale.

That’s so interesting to get a different perspective on St Peters. The stout was definitely average like I mentioned when reacting to it, but it was solid nonetheless. Nothing at all memorable, but not offensive in any way either. Here where I am in Canada it was sold in a shop that usually imports higher end beers. So funny to hear you say it’s a budget beer where you are.
