As always, you know I love your content. It’s a testament to how delicious the food looked that I’m lying here nauseated (shot day was last night and this is becoming a feature) and the food still looked good to me. I really want that banana bread and plan to make it this week! I’ve heard others say that belly shots cause more nausea. This is mysterious to me but I’m game to trying my arm next week as the nausea sucks and I am not getting enough food in on those days. I’ve been going back and watching your early videos because I found you about 3/4 into your first year and now that I’ve finally started my own GLP-1 journey, it’s extra fun to go back and revisit your early journey and even find some videos I missed. I truly love your cooking content and have learned countless things from you. Looking at these older videos, your transformation is really striking and I’m not just remarking on the obvious physical stuff. You truly have been on a Journey, my dear, an Adventure, and you are not the same Mindy that began in 2021. It’s like Frodo at the birthday party vs Frodo post-Lorien, around the time the Fellowship splits up. Things are getting harder, and you are rising to meet your challenges in noteworthy fashion. Thanks as always for sharing. ❤️🌳❤️

I'm so sorry you're still struggling with the nausea. I don't understand how or why the shot location should make any difference, but I didn't have any nausea this week, so my arms it is for me. That banana bread is beyond delicious. I am so sad that it's almost gone. I may have to do a repeat next week. 😅🤣

@@mindypweightloss I understand this feeling. That's why I advise people not to do cheat meals while they're on their weight LOSS phase. The psychology of weight regain is tough to deal with. Cheat meals should really only be done during the weight MAINTENANCE phase of a diet. I have the opposite problem. I keep losing too much weight and so I have to do a lot of cheat meals in order to maintain my weight (for muscle gain). Ironic!

@VernCrisler Hey Vern, I don't do "cheat meals" as it insinuates that there are bad foods that can only be eaten when "cheating." As someone with a food addiction/ binge eating disorder restriction is a one-way ticket to binge territory. The regain I had was a result of relapse into some bad habits and depression as I mentioned in the video. I often eat what are commonly labeled as "cheat meals" while in a weight loss phase and continue to lose weight as long as I plan for them and don't go over on my calorie consumption. 🤷♀️❤️

@@mindypweightloss Oh I wasn't referring to you specifically Mindy. I'm just talking in general. I know body builders like Arnold and his friends used to do cheat meals once a week. But they had a complicated routine for bulking and cutting, geared toward various competitions. I don't know if that would work for the average dieter.

Thanks for inspiring me today. I've been slacking on my shots these last few weeks and just been in a slump overall. Even though you didn't feel all that great, you kept at it and that's what I need to see today. I've got a dose left in the freezer and I think I'll get back on that horse!

I admire your ability to eat the things you do. Sodium for me is important. Not only that but sometimes when something is super yummy I always want more. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy the food I eat very much but when it’s gone I’m good. I guess it’s good I’m not a chef…anyway your content has been so helpful on my own journey. So many great tips that I use daily! As they say life IS the journey not the destination…. Thank you

Hey Mindy my insurance company now came down hard on those of use using the medications for weight loss, they are now requiring a PA so I am unable to continue taking MJ, because I just can’t swing the $500 it would cost and I don’t want to lose any more, I am only looking to maintain. So I’m spreading out my shots to about 9 days with the intention to just go off when I run out, unless something changes! My plan also is to get a tummy tuck/skin removal (remember my 31 lb cyst?) maybe next year, I just need to save some money for it first!

Hey Sandra, I have heard that most insurances have cracked down on non-T2D users of Oz and MJ over the last month or two. I'm sure it's pressure from the shortages. Maybe that will finally force Lily's hand to finally release the vials. I'm certain that it will have a huge impact on their earnings because most people can't afford to pay out of pocket for these meds. Have you considered going out of the country for your surgery? I have a family friend who went to Mexico and had an amazing experience. She saved close to $20k doing that and also got a 6 week "vacation" out of it. ❤️

@@mindypweightlossI have not considered going out of the country, but to be honest I haven’t even looked into the cost yet. It is not something I wouldn’t consider, though! As far as the insurance, I’ve had my rollercoaster with them, and MJ appeared on our formulary last July with no PA. I so agree with you that these drug companies need to make this affordable for people, especially if they are going to market it so heavily (no pun intended). I’ve also heard of people taking metformin to help with maintenance. I think I’m just so afraid because I don’t want to the weight to come piling back on. I am going to the gym and doing weight machines and the stair master (like who AM I lol)!

I saw your videos and admire how you handled everything you have gone through. I have some questions that no one can answer for me. After 3 months I'm n Ozempic, all the skin on my body turned into crepe!! After 6 months, I had only lost 22 lbs.. I didn't eat much, wasn't ever sick. But I had no desire to move or even keep up with my daily stuff. I HAD to eat carbs and once every 2weeks , I got a prepackaged salad. Not good, I know. Could you give me some of your thoughts? I would really appreciate it.

Hey Patti, 0.5-2lbs a week is considered sustainable weight loss. If you haven't checked out my meal planning video, I would take a look at that. It will probably give you a better idea of how I approach my diet. The only thing I don't think I addressed is protein because I wasn't focused on that at that time. I try to get at least 30% of my calories from protein.
