While editing this video, I realised how unfit I am. So much huffing and puffing, I need to get fit again.

Morning Michael, Mark at Allotment Diggers used thin bird netting apparently the cats don’t like it , your right the only issues with the plastic sheets is wind picking it up and breaking them. But looks like your getting lots ready for spring planting. Stay safe and stay gardening 🇨🇦🥬✌️🧑🌾🥕💐

Thank you for the information, I will look into the bird netting. I did weigh down the sheets so hopefully they won’t blow away (fingers crossed)

Hi Michael, good going. Good idea for the boxes and shelving for fertiliser etc. I have the round ones but got them free from my local Indian takeaway (giant yoghurt tubs). I also ask them for cardboard to go under my woodchip pathways and the giant mango barrels for nettle and comfrey feed. Youre doing grand!

Thank you April, I will look into cardboard under my paths as I have some spare. I don’t use weed fabric as I have the dreaded mares tail and that goes straight through it unfortunately. I will eventually put everything into tubs be I need to get the shed sorted first, I found out the other day that is leaking from loads of places and rotting slightly. So I am planning to strip it back to the frame and re-clad at some point (when the weather improves)

@@AllotmentAdventure sounds like a plan 👌. By the time the cardboard has rotted it will be time to take up the old woodchip (straight into the compost) and replace with new. It does suppress the weeds and costs nothing really. Im just on doing my paths now popping a few spring bulbs along the sides of the raised beds to make it look pretty ha X

I will look into the doing the cardboard but I personally won’t be lifting my wood chip to go into the compost. I will just add more on top.

Too much video of your face and not enough of the allotment. Apparently lion poo pellets work really well for cats!

Thank you for the information, I will keep that in mind when recording my next video. Unfortunately the lions poo didn’t work for me, must work better in different situations.

@@AllotmentAdventure I was going to suggest an allotment further away from housing but then remembered my entire corn crop was eaten by a badger one night.

I have looked at allotments closer to home but I have put so much work into this one that I don’t want to move now
