i don' think i heard this woman say "umm" or pause to think about any part of her narration this whole time. i could listen to here tell stories from back in the day for hours. she is perfectly weathered for such stories. she has been there, lived it. killer documentary.

Also known as "Neon: An Electric Memoir", of which I bought a copy in the 1990s. Sort of scmaltzy, but well intended. Lots of wonderful old signs, of course.

This is really an interesting documentary film telling some of the early history of neon in the 1920s up to the 1970s. A treasure trove of animated neon signs captured on video, all over the United States was very compelling. The film has a main character named “Jackie” and she is a very good actress telling stories about neon, neon bending and how neon makes her feel.

Was hoping for much more history and less artsyness, but still a very interesting short documentary nonetheless. Given that the thing is nearly 4 decades old I suppose the whole thing is history now! The "Let There Be Neon" and "MONA" galleries of NY and LA respectively are still open today!
