You should visit Las Cruces on Saturday, they have a great seven block farmer's market from around 8am to 1pm.

"Homely" means plain or ugly. I think you must mean "homey" or "cozy." Nice review, I'm def considering Las Cruces.

The architectural style for those flat roof houses is called Adobe. We have them all over here in Scottsdale, AZ as well.

I didn’t know it was an architectural style I just thought that it was the name of the material used to build them, you know clay with hay

More so it’s referred to as “Pueblo” style or Santa Fe style. Many builders in New Mexico and Arizona refer to these as Santa Fe style

I was just there, and a native LC told me most buildings aren't really adobe, but just made to look that way. I stayed in the historic Mesquite District, where those buildings are actual adobe. But the new builds aren't. He also told me they are really hard to maintain. That was one person's opinion, and I'm not from there, so you can say I'm wrong and I won't be offended!

"Out of this world"? Not sure about that BUT i go there frequently from Tucson AZ. Great history. New Mexican food. Wineries and breweries. And as mentioned below, great Farmer's Market on Saturdays.

Seems safe, high quality, suburb vibe, but also seems like it would be lonely if you moved there alone. i wonder how hard it would be to make new friends there. i mean if you were originally from there, or moved there with a big family i think it looks awesome.

Yeah definitely has a unique vibe and culture with the designs and architecture. Seems a little slow paced, hard to say for sure since I wasn't there for long. Probably harder to make friends in smaller places

New Mexico State University is just a couple of miles away on the south east side and depending on your age that might be where you would like to settle. We have a diverse age range from college age to retirement age. More small town than large city

It's a very pretty city. To be exact the city is growing fast. A lot of homes are being built up on Sonoma Ranch and the area. But this city is lacking entertainment. It's all in El Paso people have to travel that way to enjoy more to do. There is a lot of traffic and that is growing also. I love New Mexico been here 20+ yrs.

@@Christophersanchez1326 - Yeah and homeless folks generally don’t have any bank accounts either. They carry cash. Do you have a mortgage or pay rent? Chances are you own more assets than a homeless person or you would be one! That’s kind of the point here.
