One of my favorites! I’m a young person just beginning my jazz journey, but it seems to me the spiritual jazz stuff from that time is some of the best music ever made.

as an almost-lifetime Hiphop music lover, I never thought I would get into another kind of music. BUT!! 'Karma' is the one and only record that drag me into the jazz world, particularly, spiritual jazz. then I got into Lonnie Liston Smith, coltrane, even a bunch of Sanders' collaborators, like Joseph Bonner, William Henderson, etc... I love the way you introduce music, slowly tell the background, interesting and informative. English isn't my 1st language, hopefully my expression is clear enough😀

I love this album. I’m a newcomer to jazz but the avant-garde stuff is right up my alley. So much passion in this album. Tension then release. Cool stuff. I’m loving the channel as well! Keep going.

I am so glad this record was mentioned in another video, and I wasted no time in getting a copy, since I never had a recording , and the master plan song has impressed me since it first came out. So much so that I learned the exact lyrics from the radio, so that I might sing and play it, thereby briefly owning a small piece of the expressed and impressive spirituality. the song illustrates. It's really a fun song to sing, because the big octave change is so difficult to hit the notes, the challenge makes it great fun, because the mistakes are so huge, they come out as somehow laughable, it is such a tactile experience, but when you get it, even better. This video reminds me I need more Leon Thomas in my collection, since have been a fan for a long time , but kind of missed the boat when I had the chance, because I was young , into rock, and wasn't informed enough to make many good jazz purchases. Luckily , the local jazz club lasted for some time , so I have some good memories. I was tall, and they weren't real worried id. Matter of fact, I leaned to solo sitting at the feet of John Klimmer , watching him up on the stage as he expressed his thought processes through his playing. He had mellow style, but was fearless , making a jump and then trusting his skill and intelligence to weave it back into the original song structure .

I was 47 years first time I listen to jazz and that is 3 years ago, but I have gone down the rabbit hole as you would say. I now have around 215 titles of jazz records. All I have bought new cause I don't have any choice of the matter where I live I'm sad to say. And it's very heavy prices here. For a Blue Note Classic I have to pay 39 USD and for a regular Tone Poet(1LP) I have to pay 56 USD. For the stereo ''Blue Train'' I payed 77 USD, but if I wanted to buy that one now I have to pay 93 USD and 10 USD for shipping. This is the prices we operate with in Norway shopping from Norwegian internet shops. This has gone insane for a long time now I'm afraid. So there is gonna be a lot less record shopping this year sadly. But thanks for the video, brother. Sorry for the rant 😃🎸🎷🎺👍Btw the record you are reviewing I also payed 77 USD for in Norwegian internet shop😃

A few months ago you were nice enough to make me a list of jazz albums I should listen to. Karma was the 2nd in your list but the first one I listened to. I've never listened to much jazz outside of the goto's like Kind of Blue. My first time listening to, "The Creator Has a Master Plan" was unforgettable. It held my attention throughout and was pretty wild. Even when it sounds like it's a "mess," the band is still keeping it together. What an incredible song!

Thank you for listening to the song...it may be one of those music situations were it takes more than one listening session to get used to that type of jazz 😊😁

@@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews On my first time listening, I was basically hooked as soon as the bass line kicked in. Then the band had my undivided attention for the rest of the song. I looked it up and was surprised that it wasn't sampled by DJ Premiere at any point. I swear that bassline would be perfect with a boom-bap drum beat and KRS-One rhyming over it. Thank you for suggesting the album to us!

I really liked Thembi also ...Keep up the good work. By the way I am just 5 years older than you and I wasn't in to Jazz then but I still remember hearing a lot of these tunes on the late night "black" radio stations in Philly, PA
