@@PTANV-x2g Within the first minute of the video, Brodie says that these are prices in Stubhub (most people know they are a reseller) and that the prices can go up and down. Regardless of actual ticket prices or resell ticket prices, $1200 is way too much for an A’s game at a minor league park for a regular season game. And yes, I assume the prices will drop eventually. All sfdko3291 said was that you could fly to and from NY and watch a game for that price. So there’s no need to act like everyone else is dumb and you are somehow superior.

If the team plays poorly and the stadium gets as hot as you mentioned they will be lucky if they can even get the prices the minor league gets. Also note that there is no open, web based public sale of A's tickets by the A's; the website directs you to call them for season ticketing opportunities. I assume these tickets are being offered for sale by a few people who bought season tickets and are testing the waters. We'll have to wait until single tickets go on sale later to really get a sense of pricing - there's no doubt they will be higher than in Oakland due to the novelty factor and the much smaller seating capacity.

Not sure how this works, but do the A’s get a cut of the ticket resale? Or does the ticket holder pocket the difference over face value? There’s not a bad seat in the house at Sutter Health with excellent sight lines. You’re really on top of the action. The Coliseum was nifty before Mt. Davis although the massive foul territory kept us fans back somewhat. I suspect fans will sellout game’s throughout their stay here. Sacramento is a baseball town and fans have a high tolerance for losing. The loyalty to the Kings over the years is proof of that concept. Fisher needs to sell and Oakland got the shaft. Bottom line is Northern California deserves two MLB teams. Full stop. Preferably in Oakland of course. I can only hope we can complicate the move or at least get MLB attention. In the meantime, bring the hometown Sactown heroes back to the A’s: Dusty out of retirement, Logan Webb, Rowdy Tellez, Mauricio Dubon, Rhys Hoskins and James Outman. That would be fun!

@Leftylobber We went to the Memorial Day game back in 2001. Day game, and the temp was 106. Not long after the game started most of the fans had abandoned their seats and moved up to the concourse to watch in the shade.

This "transition" to Vegas has become more of a shitshow with each passing day. The A's will remain a joke of a franchise until John Fisher sells it.

I can't wait to see Fisher and Co. flop in Sacramento. I can see decent attendance in April while this is new, but ticket prices and the heat will make crowds at the Coliseum look huge by comparison.

Brodie: Interesting take on ticket revenue. Here's my thought: recently I looked up how much each team receives in revenue sharing and TV revenue before they even open the gates. If the numbers were correct, all teams except the top ten in salary could meet their salary obligations without selling a ticket! So, why do we still have to hear about small market teams not being able to compete or teams like the A's potential charging 4 or 5 times what other teams are charging for tickets? Thanks for your insights into this and other topics. A big fan of your videos.

Also apparently the River Cats have scheduling priority over the A’s, so the MLB club will be getting the day games mostly.

It would be interesting to know what prices the A's actually charged for the tickets. What were the face value of the tickets. The secondary market is usually highter. Is there a way for you to report the amount the A's actually charged for the tickers.

3:05 This was quickly glossed over, but the heat is going to be a MAJOR issue. You're 90+ degrees before noon in the dead of summer. I'm curious to see how the TV ratings fair if MLB schedules games with a 10am start time. Will advertisers pull their ads? Will NBC Sports cut their losses after a season? When will the Player's Union step in? Most people in Sac won't consider shelling out a mortgage payment for a baseball game. Sac is Kings territory

The A's will be mostly be playing night games in Sacramento. Probably have less than 10 day games. Even at night-time in Sacramento it'll still be 70-80 degrees in summer. Compared to Oakland where it's cool at night-time 50-60 degrees

Heat had never been a problem in Texas with the MLB and the players association demanding to play Sunday afternoon games when the temperature was over 100 without a cloud in the sky... All us fans were suffering like Bugs Bunny in a Looney Tunes cartoon in the middle of a desert... The fans demanded evening games, not afternoon games.... The players are paid far too much, they can get home at 5 am and sleep on the plane...

But wait...Steve Hill in a response to whether ticket prices would be affordable for a family in Las Vegas said: "There will be some tickets available at this (Las Vegas) stadium for $15. Prices aren't going to be THAT crazy. Only a few sections open it sounds like, and they are doing a lot of construction from now til opening day to add facilities and seats/concessions. I can't remember if light rail goes right to the park, but parking is the issue I see. If Fisher had some smart people around him, cause we know he isn't, he will charge reasonable prices because he may end up here for a long time. Also, Sacramento wants a team BAD. We'll probably sell out every single game for 3 years if the prices are average $50-60. The $50-60 million a year in ticket sales which covers his costs. tickets and packages aren't even on sale yet according to the As website and I haven't gotten any emails about season ticket packages yet.

Idk, you could do this with airlines and see the same thing. Try to book a ticket 6+ months out and the prices are >4x what they sell for 1 month before the flight. Fools and their money are easily parted.

I'm thinking that the SELL movement should make a massive showing outside the stadium on opening day but not go in, or consistently show up at the stadium and go to River Cats games but not Athletics games.

If they somehow make the playoffs, it can be even higher. Will the Gnats let them play at Oracle? Or will Oakland be back in the mix?
