When making a pilgrimage in northern Spain to the city of Santiago de Compostela, Spanish literature professor John Rosenberg learned to see our life journeys as pilgrimages. Approaching life as pilgrim looking for deeper meaning, rather than as a tourist, helps us pay attention. Walking nearly 500 miles of the Camino de Santiago showed Rosenberg the most important part of life: connecting with our fellow humans and with God. As we walk pilgrimly in our daily lives, we, too, can strive for deeper meaning.
