I was 13 when this came out. But I was totally hooked on "Don't you" and didn't really get into other Simple Minds music until much later. I always wondered why that was until a few years ago I learned that "Don't you" wasn't actually written by them. I decided to familiarize myself with their own music and finally understood and loved it.

One the best bands to come out of the 80's. This was a wave of British artists/bands, along with Tears for Fears, The Alarm & U2 whose music drove messages, got people to think, often times topics involving the spiritual & political, but always inspirational. Jim belts his songs out in an almost gospel style that gives you chills and makes your hair stand on end. Jim Kerr is an amazing singer and this album - ONCE UPON A TIME is a great album from start to finish. This song is incredible. "All the Things She Said", "Sanctify Yourself", "Ghost Dancing", "Oh Jungleland". Others - "Belfast Child", "Someone, Somewhere", "See the Lights". So many more. Keep reacting to this band. Saw SM live, for the 16th time, in Manchester arena in March ‘24. 20,000 people rocking for 3 hours solid. Better than ever. This was their last song. Unbelievable!
