I used to ride at night a lot "way back when". I had a 180° driving light mounted on my handlebars. It was really good ,but was hard on the charging system. I also had a small pair of lights mounted on top of the front shocks ( tucked in up under the fenders). These also put stress on the stator. Recently I swapped out the halogen lights for L E D. . I bought some lights from the Dollar store. (4$ a piece. ). And replaced the handlebar light with a 6 inch princess auto LED. I still have the stock headlights, bit they are basically useless. 25watts each. I also replaced the taillight with LED. Something else I did when I was down in Idaho riding in the sand dunes, was add a helmet light. Very effective at enhanced visibility in really dark situations.

Yeah I bought a similar one to yours for my Canned Hamm I found the factory lights to be pretty pathetic compared the the SxS I had before and the Poolaris before that. I even put better bulbs in but as far as I can tell you can't adjust the headlight angle like on a car (hey I said A-N-G-L-E). So I bought a light bar at Princess Auto ( The Man Store) and had it rigged up on top of the rack to try it and holy crap if somebody walks in front you can almost see through their clothes. (Yikes!) So once this ice age is done with us in Manitoba I'll wire it up permanently. I wanted to add that when your friend was talking about crimping and shrink tubing the connection I think your far better to solder the wires together and then shrink tube especially if your doing any riding in Muskeg your wire connection will stay tighter and have less chance of coming apart and stay sealed up.
@quaddingsous
5 жыл бұрын
Hahaha Bert! "ANGLE"! Too funny! I totally agree about the soldering & we were talking about doing that, but decided we were probably going to take these apart soon, so no sense in making it too permanent. How many freak-in measure tapes do you need to install a light bar. I see 3 on the bench. Light looks awesome buddy. Alright Andrew!!! Team Honda all the way buddy! Whoooohoooo!!!! HAHAHA!!! I wish I had the time to make another video showing the wiring to the ignition; unfortunately, I just don't. @@andrewc9234 OH right!, I forgot to mention that you can buy an "Accessories Cable" from Honda for the Rubicon that replaces the line going to your 12v plug. It unplugs under the radiator lid in the middle of your front rack. You simply unplug the one going to the 12v plug & replace it with the accessories cable. I think the accessories cable is about $20. Or, you can make your own "Accessories Cable" by unplugging the line going to the 12v plug & adding a few accessory lines onto it. I'm not sure where I could mount it on my bike tho, needs to be kind of tucked in somewhere cuz I run over all kinds of alters and what not and I would probably rip the freaking light right off but if I could get them sent to me for free I'd put them on by the Jesus LOL but that's not going to happen. He also has an accent, but not a Newfoundland accent - HAHA - I was just joking about that. Mike's first language was French, so he enunciates a few words with a little bit of a French accent. We all have accents. I found that out when I use to travel. People can tell what area you are from by how you enunciate your words; and that my friend is an accent. If you can believe it, folks in Australia and New Zealand told me they could easily tell I was Canadian and not American. And a lady from Georgia once guessed I was from the northern plains of the USA or the prairies of Canada because I sounded a little like the people in the movie "Fargo" - HAHAHAHA!!!
