Hidden Vocals [B2-D6] • Video
This album was rated an amazing 9.3 by Pitchfork in 2019, a very rare achievement for an album.
Documents Aaliyah's vocal range on ΛΛLIYΛH (Remastered Edition 2004), released originally in the summer of 2001 (Here she developed into a Lyric Coloratura Soprano) She uses her mixed voice so brilliant and amazing here (her Tessitura is also higher here C♯3-F6). We Need A Resolution and I Care 4 U are some of the most challenging records to master vocally, her Passaggio and agility is UNMACTHED. This album followed in the footprints of "One in A Million" breaking boundaries that follow into today's current R&B wave of Alternative R&B artist and albums. ΛΛLIYΛH not only featured intricate and complex melisma harmonies, vocal run, riffs, trills and passaggios but the actual distorting in the instrumental breaks and vocal alterations and arrangements are first introduced with ΛΛLIYΛH. Who knows what the Queen was preparing with album 4. UGH!
