I suppose you could say this video was 7 years in the making.
In 2016 Jan and I walked the whole of the Abel Tasman Coastal Track over 4 days.
In February 2023 we went back and spent 1 day kayaking and the next day snorkelling.
Everything about the Abel Tasman National Park is stunningly beautiful. You can do all or just part of the walk, we did a 4 day walk staying overnight at the huts along the way. There are also multiple camp sites over the route.
When we returned in 2023, we did a day’s kayaking checking out beaches and inlets before taking a right turn towards Motuareronui/Adele Island and the seal colony. We then found ourselves an isolated beach on the Island and stopped for a swim and a spot of lunch.
The next day we took a water taxi to the Marine Reserve. On the way we were blessed to see a pod of dolphins enjoying what dolphins do best. From the drop off beach we took a 20 minute walk to Tonga Bay where we snorkelled our way to the amazing Tonga Bay Arches, which is only really accusable from the sea.
We could rattle on about the Abel Tasman National Park for ages, telling you how spectacularly beautiful it all is, and what sort of activities you can get up to. However, if you can we highly recommend you just go and see for yourself, and in the meantime Jan and I hope you enjoy our little video.
