Hi! Welcome to Blood Talks!
I hope you enjoy it and find this video helpful. ABO discrepancies describe as forward and reverse types do not match. This means the RBC antigen gives one type and the serum or the antibody give another type. The discrepancies could cause from ABO subgroup. It is important to consider this inconsistency before giving a patient red blood cell his or her type. A group O RBC could be given to the patient before the discrepancy results in case of emergency. However, finding out the root cause and the patient blood type is essential.
