I've spent my entire 70 years living in the lands of glacial till. It's taken me a while to get used to the look of this piedmont(?) mud and clay you dig in. More used to the boulders and gravel look. Interesting how it silts about. Interesting how it handles and dries out as well. Around here they would be selling that stuff as 'clean fill'.

Well as bad as it is, it could have been worse with the swim area as soupy as the head section and the haul road not working out. You could have been there for months moving soup twenty times down by the dam to load. Imagine having to haul this off site due to lack of space. Lots of things went right and it will be nice when you are "on to the next" so count your blessings young man. After all, you are the king of ponds!!! Had one in a subdivision here in Missouri that they were dredging and they somehow broke through some rock into a cave and whole thing went sub terrain. Last I heard engineers were trying to figure out a way to plug the hole and fill it back up.Lots were sold as water front and it also was required for storm water retention. So yeah count your blessings for sure.
