When I unsuspectingly put my SUP board with scubajet drive into the water at Fort Arabesque and headed towards the open sea, the boss of the local surf school saw me and called over to see if I had a rope with me.
I actually had a Cressi SUP Leash safety belt with 2 carabiners with me.
When I arrived, it turned out that a 15-year-old young man with a wind surfboard was desperately trying to get back to the shore, which turned out to be very difficult because the wind was coming from the land side. So they swapped the wind surfboard for a SUP board on the high seas in the hope that the young man would be able to get to the shore better by paddling.
Unfortunately, this was somewhat semi-successful.
And then I came with my SUP board!
Equipped with a double paddle and a 1000 watt motor under the board! My SCUBAJET!
Since the eyelet on the distressed ship's board was too small to attach a snap hook, the young sailor had to hold the "tow rope" with his hands.
That worked well and I headed towards the shore against the wind and waves with the stricken vessel in tow.
There, after much fear and waiting, he was finally welcomed by his mother and younger brother.
This was my 1st towing on the water! ;-)
