I'm an amateur boat builder. I use blue polytarp for my sails held together with carpet tape. I'll send you my resume in the near future.

Love sail innovation, and this is insane tech! Self regulating sails is where its at *wing sails too*. Awesome!

Looks good but the filming was not good, I had to slow the video down to 0.5 speed just to see some detail. Please do another video of the design and how it works a bit better, also no telltales on the sail for trimming, also need to see actual wind data, speed and TWA for comparison

No telltails because humans aren’t trimming. That’s the point, I think.

É muito melhor que a convencional? E quanto ao preço?

Hm, it produces very little camber. That is optimum for high wind speeds, but not for typical yachting conditions.

Multihulls generate enough apparent wind that don’t require as much camber

@@terrygalvin9653 Certainly true of the stripped racer shown here, but not true of your average cruising catamaran, I'd say. A cruising catamaran averages about 20% more speed made good compared to cruising monohulls. This sail looks like maybe 3% draft?

@@captainwin6333 I sailed my own boat transpacific, Seattle via the S. Pacific to Hong Kong; I had a passenger cat design of mine approved by the USCG for up to 149 passengers. My first voyage was as skipper of my own boat to Hawaii in 1972. Pray tell us your credentials. You are so top lofty they must be very impressive indeed. Designing wing sails is a hobby of mine.

There was more information on their site. The camber abilities look sufficient to me, but I don't see any point to the twin skins at high apparent angles. I think a better statement would be that this rig only contributes significantly to performance when sail drag is a significant portion of total drag. It sounds like they recognize the limits and needs because now they beefed up the rig for a headsail -presumably a large downwind sail.

Here is a similar inflatable sail - SWISS concept (over 6 years ago): kzitem.info/news/bejne/sn2Almahfnali34&ab_channel=SailingVideoAward
