No doubt VW-Skoda makes engineered marvel Cars. But since 1.5 TSI Engines are imported & expensive, these Cars are for only those many Indians who can afford to spend atleast ₹2.5 - 3 lacs more against Competition. Inspite of offering good Cars the sales nos. are declining. Its high time they offer Sub 4 Mts starting from ₹9-10 lacs Cars for big Sales nos. in India. Once a brand VW-Skoda customers, chances are 90% of them will retain the same brand for their bigger & better Cars in future. Since Polo, Vento & Rapid are discontinued. More than 50% owners have sold their old Cars and bought new VW-Skoda Cars.

Obviously. But the point of this technology is to deliver fuel economy. The sensors will not activate ACT if you are revving hard as ECU knows driver wants to have fun

Message to ashish gupta: spare parts are still costly, hence the resale is down. I am just sitting at service centre he is telling cost of front suspension alone 55K. This is because there is no repair work only replacement will be done. For 12 year old car i can manage by minor repairs.

Yes. I got the same quote for 12y Vento for front suspension. Started getting creaking noises when going over speed breakers. Assured it is alright safety wise but not comfort wise. ABS sensor issue is coming up now and then making noises when applying brakes.

Correction. There is really a significant note change in the engine sound. After all engine sound is not just from pistons moving, but from the combustion of fuel. The DSG turns off 2 cylinders at 1400rpm and turns all 4 cylinders back on at 2000rpm. I have a question though. If the deactivated cylinders are always the same cylinders, wont there be uneven wear over say 5 years or 7 years?

There will be but not as much because cylinder deactivation doesn't even work 95% of the time under ideal driving conditions.

If you manage to maintain throttle at less than 10-12%(I'm not 100% sure of this figure, I'll confirm if you want) and RPM between 1400-2000rpm in drive mode it works as long as you drive. Even in sports mode if you maintain rpm above 1400 and be very light on your throttle inputs it works well.

I think right now VW has the worst portfolio of products. No vehicle under 10 lacs(polo) and no vehicle from 20-30 lacs. So they are missing budget customers and also their enthusiast customers as well. And the current products they have are compromised for both.

We have vento 1.0 tsi 2022 model. It's both o2 sensor got hole within 10000km and we had to replace it. We had to pay Rs 22k as it was not covered in guarantee. We still got no reason why it happened and how to avoid it in future. Please advise. Really appreciate your knowledge and effort. I watch almost all your videos full.

The comment about carbon deposit was in reference to the engine being a GDI and there's no spray of fuel on the intake valves, in the longer run can the intake valves develop carbon because of PCV and blow-by as they're not being washed by the fuel? My question is not related to ACT but to all the TSI engines. Please discuss this in a video, if possible.

In Highway 1l.will be efficient. In city use 3 cylinder will not be economical. 1.5 l as they have 2 cylinder deactivation system it ll have an edge over 1l engine in city use bumper to bumper. But both engines must be lightly Handled in city use..or else both ll drink more fuel

Five years back they left n re-opened n now closed again, what a farce marketing strategy.. how can people take them in confidence if showroom n service is non existent

Hello Munish Ji, Is 1.5 TSI DSG engine reliable in long term like 10 years. Coz i heard that one part mechatronic will damage in 6th or 7th Year. Due to this whole engine unit will be replaced. which costs 2.5 lacs i think.

What he says is wrong. During cylinder deactivation both the inlet valves and outlet valves remain closed, not open. These EA211 evo engines are interference engines, if the valves are open, piston will hit it when in TDC. It'll be catastrophic for engine.

12:10 I hope exhaust manifold is common so the exhaust gas from the working cylinder can enter into the idle cylinder chamber which can make carbon deposit in liner as well as valve seat.

There will be timer to switch between 1st 2-cylinder cut-off to another set of 2-cylinder. So wear and tear will be maintained uniformly in all cylinders. This technology is purely for fuel economy and reduce exhaust emissions.

As far as I know, Volkswagen is not trying to take out the same amount of power from 2 cylinders as it is doing with 4 cylinders. When the ecu engages 2 cylinder mode it judges a variety of factors to ensure that only that amount of power is being demanded by the driver of the car. The cylinders would have had increased load if volkswagen would have been trying to get more power from the activated cylinders to compensate for the deactivated cylinders. Hope this helps !!!

Car built is too light compared to the previous built and service costs are high due to labour. Also people say that spare part support for older model is poor. So no practical person can really enjoy having a high quality car over 10-15 years from now onwards. The number one priority always is cheap maintenance.

2.0 tsi engines are for higher end costly cars e.g. Tiguan (37 +laks). These cars are not for fuel efficiency but for power and enthusiasm..

It is very smart, when you push, it gets deactivated automatically and actually activates after observing the driving style. We cannot manually control it.

Mere expert bhai inlet & exhaust not remain open always during activation time but always close.....so no suction no compression. Pls recheck. I know even VW training video also explained it wrongly sometimes !!

Sir, Please bring the facts about the engines fitted on Virtus GT 7DSG car. They are without VW LOGO on its engine. When raised a question on this VW says to contact dealers. What is the secret behind this. My doubt is when VW manufacturers its engines and customers are purchasing just bcoz of its powerful engines and mainly the brand VW. Skoda KUSHAQ being the same engine is with SKODA LOGO. Pl reply to customers from being fooled by dealers or VW itself.

Normally, the firing order for a 4 cylinder is 4132. These firing orders are all executed within one cycle of the piston (during any stroke of a cylinder, atleast one of the 4 cylinders is firing). But in ACT, one cylinder fires while the other is taking the inlet (180 degree phase diff, while in the crankshaft, their movement is only 90 degree apart). And ACT can't change the phase difference. So how does the engine still remain balanced?

This tech is not new. If same set of cylinders is disabled every time, thermal distribution will be poor across the engine block and longevity will be impacted.

Sir one doubt from layman's perspective.. Let suppose most of the life span, car runs on ACT ie two cylinder, then carbon deposits on running pistons will be more compared to other two pistons. Does it have any impact on overall compression or on any other aspect

What about power balance in engine if power is not balanced in engine it will induce stress on the crankshaft hence axial vibration will increase. How VW managed crankshaft vibration and stress.

Amazing Video and amazing channel. Too vast knowledge and very informative. I am a huge fan and always belive in quality cars. Need to buy Kushaq 1.5 Manual, but i guess Taigun GT Plus with 1.5 Manual is getting launched till November this year. I have time but confused which one to buy as both are sisters but which is better and cheaper in maintenance. Build quality as we say are the same brand, so nothing majorly to change in driving dynamic except Fit and finish and interiors looking more neater. Yet need your expert comments on cheaper and better after sales service. Kushaq 1.5 Manual or Taigun?? Many thanks in Advance Manish Ji and Sunderdeep Ji.

As DSg reliability is of concern, I had rapid diesel At, gear got stuck at 2 4 and 6, and was not shifting to 1 ,3,5 &7. Share your recommendation...pls if you can

I think piston wear and tear will be uneven, cause it's not just fuel stoppage..physics says two pistons not working on the shaft, and moving just due to the shaft because of the reverse force and cause of the other two pistons, will have a load on rest of the piston and shaft is taking the extra load of the free pistons. Now only the real engineer of the vehicle will decide how much damage it may have or not at all, as the strength and composition of internal material can decide that. I am just throwing logic and not true knowledge which only a mechanical engineer can come up with.

ACT me jo inactive 2 cylinder hai , isahe valve inlet/ outlet dono valve closed hote hai .. apne galti se bol diya open rahate hai … open rahana galat mistake hai apaki… please correct bloge… galti hui hai.. open nahi close rahte hai 4 valve in ACT me jo inactive cylinders hai vo… injectors bhi closed and valve inlet/outlet dono bhi closed hi rahte hai

Mujhe lagta hai cylinder 2 and 3 ke valve open nhi hote … as shown in 3D video shown by VW … valves open ho he nhi sakte .. jese inho ne actuator btaye hai … wo push and pull ka kaam bhi karte hai like spring

Act technology audi ne banai.. vw group ne sub brand me dali… vw official ACT animation or technology me valve closed rahte hai ACT me jo inactive cylinders rahte hai.. I think the inlet outlet valves remain closed- two benefits of that- No pumping losses- as the engine does not waste energy in pumping in and out the air, second, the trapped air in the cylinder acts as a spring so there is minimal loss of energy. I had the Honda Accord V6, which had this similar technology, de activating two or three cylinders when the power demand was less. Kindly check and advise. Many thanks.

About carbon deposition- These engines are I think direct and indirectly injected. This was introduced in the EA888 engines to get rid of the carbon deposition problems. I still think that the cylinder valves are closed so there in no question of excess carbon deposition.
