Anthony fantano AKA theneedledrop is currently in the midst of a legal battle with Call of Duty publisher Activision following the alleged unethical use of a sound bite / video clip - It's enough slices.
Anthony Fantano is not just a “TikTok creator” as every news article is currently suggesting. Anthony fantano also known as theneedledrop is a popular music critic who got his following here on KZitem far before TikTok. And now, Activision are counter suing this man.
So even if you don’t know who anthony is you might have seen his TikTok clip which essentially started this whole legal cases. The viral clip turned soundbite “its enough slices”
So essentially Activision used this sound bite in a promotional video for crash bandicoot. Anthony sent a cease and desist to Activision because he believed the video “falsely implied that he endorsed Activision” & of course they had used it without his permission.
Now that is totally understandable and also respectable like it’s good to know we all fucking hate Activision, even music critics. Me personally I’d give MW2 a light 4.
But that’s not where the problems start because after receiving the cease and desist Activision took the promotional video down. The cracking point was when Anthony threatened legal action due the substantial damages from the use. - so things like public image. He allegedly proposed that he would be willing to accept a settlement in the 6 figure range.
As a result activision is counter suing him for legal fees.
This happens amoungst a plethora of mw3 (modern warfare 3) leaks. We are acouple months out from the beta, trailer and just weeks from the reveal.
