Just found everything I need on Amazon and I just purchased a 3D printer for Christmas so this is perfect. Thanks for the informative video. It blows my mind that the battery cost $600 to replace. Cheers from Canada.

Gonna try and do this and see if i cant pull it off.. 3m papr stuff is ridiculously expensive just gotta spend thousands on batteries and filters to do your job and not get cancer😊

Looks Like 3M is screwing over the welder in the name of "safety", and what happens when this flimsly plastic product falls apart? Why just whip out another $3K!

Great video….I just ordered the boards needed. Just one question. How did you attach the boards to the bottom of the unit? Also what gauge wires did you use?

Hey I'm sorry for the late reply- been super busy with school. I used hot glue with little screws as standoffs for the boards and 14 gauge wire.

Very good and informative video. I have the 9100fx and g5-01 and personally prefer how secure the 9100fx stays on compared to the g5. Not a big deal if you’re working in a shop but is extremely aggravating working 10 hour days and have to constantly move and fit into tough spaces. It’s a great idea using dewalt batteries instead of the overpriced 3m batteries and will someday implement it into my blower. Easier and cheaper to buy and charge multiple batteries and use with my other tools. I’ve rebuilt a couple of my 3m batteries but if my chargers start to die on me I’m doing the switch. I use to use the quick release half face but over time has left a dark spot and even widened the pores on the bridge of my nose and even occasionally cause pain from tenderness. Never go back to that again. Thanks for the video and keep up the good work.

Thanks! Sorry the half face is so uncomfortable over time! I try to avoid it by just saving it for tight spots too. Good luck with whatever you decide to do in the future!

Nice video:), im planning to make the same setup. I still have the (broken) original battery and it says 10.8V, and u have it on 14.4V. Is it working fine on 14.4V, just wondering then im gonna make it like that aswell.

I believe these came in 10.8 and 14.4 V battery configurations depending on what year it was made. I would try 10.8 first and if you get the low battery voltage beeping alarm, then try 14.4.

Did you get a fix for it running for 15 seconds or so and shutting off?

If you haven't already, Make sure that that is 14.4 V under full load - have the filters on and the hose and helmet hooked up. If it shows 14.4 V under no-load, the voltage will drop a little when the load is applied. If that doesn't work, maybe try 14.5V or maybe your DRO is bad on the board and you can test the voltage with a multimeter. Lmk if that works

great video. Mine is shutting off at 14.4 with a low battery signal. may need to change the voltage converter
