I watched the video and was able to find the information I was looking for! I watched a few video's before this one and had to keep looking to get the answers. I am mainly into old hot rods and I wanted to add power brakes to a newer car( 1951 Ford Shoe box sedan) and I am glad I found all the info needed.

Did CPP upgrades on my C10 which was all manual drums before, mostly great but some dilemmas going aftermarket. will be doing the first teardown since I put it together for a look before I start driving it since doing some much needed floor/body repairs. I would sure like to get a four corner double pumper like yours. Great days to you and yours Dan !

Yeah, sometimes aftermarket parts going together in a system create some issues. That’s why we are all customizers. Holley carburetors are great if you know how to tune them.

Nice! You answered my question, I have a 41 plymouth with a sbc 350 swapped and auto tranny. But since I still have original under floor single MC with all drums on 4 corners, she don't stop too well!! I'm going to do a under the dash thru firewall pedal conversion with a dual MC and was wondering if the brake booster was a no-no on all drums. But now thanks to your video I'm going for it! Of course I will be swapping all brake lines out for new hard lines but still, it'll finally stop when I want it too! Lol

You will not regret it, one of the best mods I have ever done. Made the car so much more enjoyable to drive. Now, If I could just get that overdrive trans in, lol.

Who's calling me a GEAR HEAD???? Hey Dan. We can see the difference when using quality brake lines. The ones that you have are nice and strong. That is what I put on my truck. I just wrote out a couple of questions for you because I want to do the same thing to my 1954 Fargo 1/2 ton. I have all drum brakes with a single line master cylinder. Then I deleted them because you did a fantastic tutorial on this conversion. Now if I go down to my auto parts store will they dye my hair purple as well? Thanks, Ashley. Thanks for sharing Dan.🍁👍👍

Gearhead answer,: I’m sure you have been called worse. 😲 The purple beard answer: only if you can pull it off. The conversion from single master to dual answer: definitely worth the conversion for safety and function. The power booster answer: most definitely worth the conversion for safety and ease of driving. Thanks for watching and as always appreciate your comments.

You can add a vacuum canister that will hold vacuum and store it for when you need it. Should solve your problem. Good luck!

Did you delete the distribution blocks for the front, rear breaks? Or just seperate?
@DansGarageNC
3 жыл бұрын
It never had any, when I first did the dual master, I just put one line for the front and one for the rear. A proportioning block may be useful to adjust the front to back pressure to even out.

Isn’t it necessary to adjust this rod from the booster to the cylinder?
@DansGarageNC
3 жыл бұрын
No, there is only two choices, and short one and a long one. If you are speaking about the rod to the pedal, that is done on the inside to adjust play of the pedal before it contacts the master. I did not film inside the car, but briefly mention it at 3:28. Thanks for watching.

I had previously changed to the dual master, so I just bought a power booster from a supplier that would fit, and put it in and hooked it up to vacuum. That really was it.

I have a 68 Chevelle all drum and wanting to add a booster. 1. can you provide links for the booster you used. 2. Did you have to change the valve in order to install this booster?
@DansGarageNC
3 жыл бұрын
I think I got this one from Ausleys: chevelle.com/1964-66-factory-style-9-booster/, you would need this one: chevelle.com/1967-72-factory-style-11-booster/ I have 4 wheel drums, so I do not have any valving. All I had to do was move the master, and add the vacuum line. Good luck. This is one of the best things I have done to my car for drivability.

My 63 buick skylark is 4 wheel Drum. I already did the brakes all the way around kept them original, As well as the single bladder master cylinder... I know, my Next move... BUT I was wondering if you had a link to that Power Booster? Again mine/ original... the wavy rubber boot on the front is dry rotted, so wanted to replace... that one will work for me. Thanks Again. ✌🏼

chevelle.com/1964-66-factory-style-9-booster/ That is the one I believe I used. They do have boosters with dual masters that would be perfect for upgrading safety.
