Here are two additional verses I wrote for Roger Miller's song, "Not in Nottingham" from the Robin Hood Disney film. The images are from blurtso.com. Here are the additional verses:
Whether rain or drought, down and out,
people get by with what they are without,
but not in Nottingham, here there is no doubt,
if we weren't in the state we're in, we'd all move out.
We'd up and fly if we had wings for flyin',
it's the truth there ain't no lying, there just ain't no happiness for me,
not in Nottingham.
Up and down the tracks, up the road and back,
others have more... than they lack,
but not in Nottingham, I'm inclined to believe
if we had just half of what we don't have we'd up and leave.
We'd up and fly if we had wings for flyin',
fly away from all this dyin', there must be a better way to be,
but not in Nottingham....
If we weren't so down, we'd up and leave.
