A message for Judd: You are such an amazing, compassionate husband. Your sense of humor has always brought laughter to Jaq, and you are so loving towards her. We notice this as the viewers There aren't so many men online that are so compassionate and kind towards others- you are a wonderful example to all. I know that seeing a loved one go through pain is hard, and you stay strong for her so well. You ought to be proud of yourself, as such a genuine human.

I couldn't pee after the birth of my son. But a lovely nurse told me to get a handheld shower head and using warm water, direct the flow upwards. It stimulates your bladder. I had to do that for months but it beat a catheter. Hopefully you'll have sensation back soon but that tip was a lifesaver for me. Best wishes.

Lolly Lolly it's VERY common and NOT A COMPLICATION of not being able to pee after surgery. It is distressing but not uncommon. I had to have a catheter after having my car toon and I hated every minute (I had hellp syndrome and pre eclampsia so yeah I didn't have a choice) and believe me the second it could come out it did!! Good tip about the water, I did the trick of running the water in the sink to stimulate the pee 😀

You are one tough chicky, Jac! I am so glad that it went well and that pain control is a priority for your team. I had a horrible experience once and have been in fear of a repeat every time I have surgery. Anyways, back to you. I am so glad that this is over and all there is left to do is rest up and heal. Don't worry about repeating yourself... it happens to everyone who has had sedation and/or anaesthetic, I think. It is also not totally uncommon for the bladder to require extra time waking up. If I could offer you one suggestion, the bowels are often hard to get moving partly because of anaesthetic and pain medicine, but also because of the pain itself. I would highly recommend you ask the nurses/doc for a stool softener. Start taking it now and that way by the time you have the need to go, you will not have as hard of a time. xoxox Look forward to seeing you again when you are up for it. xoxox Heather🇨🇦

Hey Jacquie! I’m so happy to see how well you’re doing! I’m recovering from my surgery on Monday also. Just to let you know it’s very normal to have trouble urinating after being under general anesthesia. Sometimes you just have to sit and try a little longer than usual. Also very common to have hot flashes and sweats, that’s how your body flushes out the anesthesia. If that happens to you it only lasts a few days. Also be aware that as the anesthesia leaves your body, you may feel crappy for a couple days. But things will be better soon. Good luck to you, and I hope your recovery keeps going well. Love, C
