I have adrenal problems and I've always said if I end up in hospital and need to take extra steroid medication I'll be taking it and I don't give a stuff what the hospital say. I swear a lot so I say **** regulations. I'd rather stay alive and self-medicate over hospital objections rather than die waiting for them to authorise the meds or for someone to take forever to come in. Big hugs, hoping you recover enough to go home soon.

Oh my goodness! Understand the itch, it is awful. I just got my MCAS diagnosis last week but I knew long before the official diagnosis. It is maddening! All over my scalp and face, especially my nose :P I do have a question though, does your skin peel easily/regularly? My hands peels constantly and are itchy as well as patches that tend to react the worst.

Girl anybody who's ever had an allergic reaction like that knows how you feel. When you feel like you have bugs crawling beneath the surface of your skin and the itch just won't go away it is literally maddening! My doctors put me on a medication (and of times right now I cannot remember the name of it to save my life!!) when I was a teenager. It was like a booster, to make it seem like I was taking more of my primary treatment when I really wasn't. Anyway, I woke up frantically scratching the soles of my feet and the palms of my hands. I mean I really thought I'd lose my sanity if I didn't get relief. I was in 16 so that made it even harder on me emotionally. Anyway that reaction was so severe that that Med caused Hepatitis! I have had a few allergic reactions similar to that in my adult years with no known cause whatsoever. So girl Jaquie you are not alone lol. I feel ya! Prayers and well wishes to you and your recovery from the surgery!!

I know how you feel with allergic reactions, they're daily for me. The way I abort them is with liquid children's benadryl, but it's so slow now because of gastroparesis. The trips to the ER are no fun at all. Those bathroom doors in hospitals are way too heavy, it's so hard to maneuver with the pole. I'm praying for your recovery 😊💕

With the itching, have you tried slapping where it itches instead of scratching?
@JuliaN-kb5fh

@therealzuxana

It really helps though! Slapping interrupts the nerve signals that are causing the itching without the skin damage that scratching would cause.
@shawnstone666
6 жыл бұрын
Its what you're suppose to do when getting a tattoo because otherwise scratching would interfere with the healing process. So if she is breaking the skin and irritating it with scratching, then just slap where it itches. Not stupidly hard, unless sometimes thats what it takes to get the relief, otherwise a soft/medium slap normally does the trick. Nothing harsh about it, its a legitimate thing to relieve itching.

Glad you are doing better and getting out of there soon. I hate those alarms. When Jim was in the hospital, if they didn't answer the alarm in a specified timeframe it got louder and louder. We had to call several times, so annoying! Hated their early schedule, I like to sleep in. Those doors are heavy and hard to maneuver with a walker and IV pole. I wear size 10/11 shoes, I'm 5'8" tall. My ex used to tell the shoe salesman to keep the shoes and give me the boxes, lol. Continue getting better. Attitude helps and having mom and friends there is a big plus. Sending love, prayers, and good thoughts!
