Kettlebells have so much carryover to many different sports and lifts. THATS why they call it the “WTF Effect”. That power, mobility, and strength in the frontal plane is insane.

This is amazing content. There was about a 3 year stretch when I was doing heavy barbell powerlifting to supplement Jiu Jitsu (my main focus). There was zero translation to the mat. When I transitioned to kettlebells (and specifically kettlebell snatches, double kettlebell clean and presses, and double kettlebell front squats), it was the closest I’ve come to taking a magic pill. Everything about how strength supplemented movement on the mats as well as conditioning just changed for me. I’ll never go back to the barbell unless I want to compete for a meet, which will be never. ✌️

This is so refreshing to hear, thank you Adriell. I wish they had kettle bells back in ‘98-‘03, when I was in my prime. I know they were invented before then, but I had never heard of them. I would also do more flexibility and stability work to assist the decent amount of agility work I did. But I’d toss that flat bench BS (killed my shoulders and barely worked my chest compared to dumbbell’s) and deadlifts, swap in kettle bells. Have a great day everyone! Thank you 🙏!

How's it going
@HumanAki

@@mrlions420 Yo! Pretty good, man! I will say, though, it all depends on your goals! For example, I like high-volume calisthenics for conditioning (multiple sets of 20+ reps with minimal rest) and, while Adriell's program kept my endurance up, it just wasn't the same; but that's to be expected, since he's not solely focusing on that! Same for the pure strength/heavy lifts! I'm not lifting at the same level I was when I was JUST lifting heavy but, damn, I was surprised at how Adriell's training kept my strength up! Usually, once I walk away from heavy lifts, I have to start all over, but, with his KB training, I started at around 60% and I felt like I could've immediately jumped in at 70% or more! If your goal is hypertrophy and work capacity, this program is solid! You'll build muscle and you'll get your heart pumpin', for damn sure; especially if you do those last 2 exercises in each block as supersets! If your goal is to ONLY put more plates on the bar or ONLY increase your conditioning, then I recommend just doing what you wanna get good at! Like, if you wanna be a better swimmer, yeah, lifting will help to an extent, but it can't replace actually swimming, y'know? But, honestly, this isn't a knock on Adriell's program in the least, his kettlebell workouts are incredible; especially since your core is working damn near EVERY. SINGLE. LIFT! And, you don't need to do a single crunch or plank to get there. Just lifting and twisting unilaterally! It's honestly my favorite part of the program because whenever I mindlessly went through the motions, I was tipping over or half-assing it and had to shape up immediately! All in all, I'm personally keeping his program in my back pocket from now on, since it IMMEDIATELY exposed weaknesses I had in my shoulder extension, hinging pattern and stabilizing muscles in general, and it worked to strengthen them. And, I'm not even done with the program, so, who knows what'll learn. But, it's super convenient since you don't need much room (literally just your living room) and maybe 2-4 KBs of varying weight to do it; since some exercises, like the Single-Arm Snatch, will demand that you go lighter, while exercises like the Goblet Squats, Cleans and RDLs let you load them pretty heavy! I enjoyed the simplicity and effectiveness of it! Got a whole new appreciation for Kettlebells, for sure! No gimmicks here! As a final note to this hella long-winded answer (I'm sorry! XD), because I was building muscle mass, my flexibility was suffering. This is typical for me if I stop stretching every day, though, which this program doesn't have you do specifically, so, take that with a grain of salt, since, again, your goals are likely different than mine. If I had to put a rating on Adriell's program for MY GOALS (well-rounded athlete), I'd give it a solid 6/10, since you'll build muscle and get explosive in your hinging pattern (cleans, etc...), which are two things necessary for an athlete. I imagine if your goal is to JUST build muscle, be actually functionally strong and keep from being completely stiff as hell while doing it, it's a stellar 8-9/10, in my opinion! I don't regret getting his program in the least, I learned a lot and improved just as much! Hopefully, if you do get his program, your experience will be the same or better! It's 8 weeks long, so, if you don't enjoy it, you'll still have spent 2 months building muscle (definitely in your legs) and feeling pretty solid in your core. Hope that helps! 😁

I took a whole month off from jiu jitsu after my 3rd kid was born, I was only doing KB complexes and a lot of kettlebell swings everyday. I came back after a month off and everyone I rolled with said I didn’t miss a step. My cardio felt good and I felt strong especially in awkward positions on the frontal plane. I also hadn’t done pull-ups in months due to shoulder injury so I picked up a macebell and KBs; I knocked out 20 pullups in a row after not doing a pull up in 5 months. I am a full believer of the wtf effect.

This is my second time wathcing this podcast. I follow Dre and many other kettlebell folks on social media. Dre is one of the most wholesome guys around. I actually found starting with kettlebells how tight and immobile I was, especially since I did not work out regularly (harder with 2 young kids). When I first saw his page I was like "what the heck is this guy doing - he's crazy" and started to realize that I really needed to work on mobility as well as strength. I have incorporated a lot his movements into my stuff now and its made a huge difference. I will keep working and I'm really thankful for his content being out there!

IM 26 years old and im shredded and look better than these juice heads and guess what i only train with kettlebells. im 5 percent body fat and look amazingly lean. If your goal is getting ripped and lean and strangely strong use kettlebells if you want to bulk up like the rest of the world use barbells and dumbbells. Depends on your goals. I've been hearing a lot by juice heads that look fat and horrible say the kettlebell is useless ummm yeah if you want to be 270 and look horrible and too bulky but if that's the look your going for then go for it. But try the kettlebell even if your skeptical and use it for three months and only use the kettlebell and i bet you will look lean and you'll decently look and feel like a pornstar. Use 40 min of kettlebell training for an hour and your fat will disappear and you will gain lean muscle.

Major unsaid problem with kettlebells (and experimenting with them while "exploring" movements) is it's recipe for further injury if you have prior injuries. Labral tears, shoulder impingements, hip problems, etc. There is a ton of risk just playing around for yourself. Training/coaching/expertise is essential.
