I’ve been in remission from Borderline Personality Disorder for almost 2 years, and since I stay involved with online BPD communities, I see a lot of people with similar questions, concerns, or misconceptions about their BPD diagnosis or BPD symptoms. This is a collection of general advice for anyone with Borderline traits (whether they’re diagnosed or not) who want to understand themselves better and start on their own road to recovery.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy, or DBT, is a highly effective treatment for BPD which follows the core concept of accepting our current behaviors, circumstances, and personality while working towards positive change in those areas. I’ve broken down these general advice videos into two videos following a similar pattern. Part 1 is more about gaining a better understanding of your BPD and accepting where you are (while trusting that you can improve), and Part 2 will be more focused on further steps to work towards change.
