In today's video I aerate my bermudagrass lawn. Aerating is the final step in prep work for my lawn leveling project. Aerating, specifically core aerating, is typically suggested in order to reduce compaction in a lawn. Compaction can make it difficult for water and nutrients to reach the soil layer, as well as making it harder for grass to tack down. In order to reduce compaction in the long term, it's a good idea to remove cores. I actually won't be removing cores because my plugs are made up almost entirely of sand.
