@georgegsroomofrock9868 I love it too, but Get A Grip and Gems was my introduction to Aerosmith, so it holds a very special place in my heart. I was 12 when Get A Grip was released

Cool vid. Great ranking. 1) Aerosmith 2) Toys in the Attic 3) Rocks 4) Draw the Line 5) Permanent Vacation 6)Pump 7) Night in the Ruts 8) Rock in a Hard Place 9) Music From Another Dimension Love Joe Perry s solo stuff. New one rocks. The new early years demo is so cool. Live one is great. Have a boot Write me a Letter rocks. First album era. Then, the rest. Get Your Wings is a Steve Hunter album to me. To generic. No funk. Or Aerosmith groove

Done With Mirrors was a demo. The producer put some tape on the red light so they didn't know the producer was recording. The label released it. (Source: Aerosmith's Walk This Way autobiography)

That’s funny, we both said the same thing about Rocks, yes a lot of people put that one at #1. I don’t blame you for not including Honkin’ On Bobo, since it’s mostly a covers album save one new song.

Timeline is everything. I’m a child of the 60s and so the seventies albums will always be tops. With you all the way on Done with Mirrors however. Very underrated. My ranking, for what it’s worth: 1. Toys in the Attic 2. Rocks 3. Get Your Wings 4. Done with Mirrors 5. Draw The Line 6. Aerosmith 7. Pump 8. Night in the Ruts 9. Permanent Vacation 10. Rock in a Hard Place. After that, I’ve given Get a Grip, Nine Lives and Just Push Play a fair listen, but they’re too polished to these ears. And too many outside writers: Jim Vallance, Desmond Child, Mark Hudson, Jack Blades, Tommy Shaw, Taylor Rhodes, Lenny Kravitz, Richard Supa, Marti Frederiksen, Glenn Ballard, Greg Wells, Dean Grakal, Dominic Miller, Dianne Warren and Todd Chapman. Says it all really.

1 -- A++ 1987 Permanent Vacation (metal edge 80s sound, high testosterone, Steve Tyler metal screams and full of adrenaline) 2 -- A+ 1977 Draw The Line (sounds like prequel to GnR Appitite For Destruction) gritty, dirty garage sound, and high energy riffs and machismo 3 -- A+ 1976 Rocks (fast speed riffs and catchy beats, macho energy, polished radio flat production) 4 -- A+ 1975 Toys In The Attic (eclectic mix of 70s metal, stones-esque rock, blues and ballad, amazing song writing and musical compositions) 5 -- A. 1985 Done With Mirrors (1980s hard rock macho garage sound production, zero choruses, horns or fake producer sound enhancements, all prime cuts) 6 -- A. 1974 Get Your Wings (70s hard rock sound electric guitar mix with acid rock ballads) 7 -- A. 1982 Rock In A Hard Place (80s metal guitar sound, cranking riffs, excellent compositions) 8 -- A. 1973 Aerosmith (riffin' heavy blues fantastic and hip shaking catchy) 9 -- B+ 1989 Pump (late 80s conversion away from prior metal sound on PV, hard rock grungy sound with sweet soulful Tyler high notes singing, tame contemporary lyrics) 10 -- B+ 1993 Get A Grip (party album full of adult contemporary lyrics to high energy guitar work, introducing several high energy ballads and pruning away heavy songs) 11 -- B+ 1997 Nine Lives (eclectic mix of 90s hard rock with a plethora of sweet soulful Steve Tyler ballads mixed in to stew the sound up, adult contemporary love lyrics) 12 -- B. 2001 Just Push Play (party mix of metal pop with sassy sweet Steve singing and a plethora of ballads both endearing and ultra sappy) 13 -- C+ 1979 Night In The Ruts (high energy bluesy hard rock mixed with an eclectic mix of sassy blues cover, rockin ballad, and baby ballad, and filler, half a masterpiece) 14 -- D+. 2004 Honkin' On Bobo (brassy blues rock remakes featuring sassy sweet Steve Tyler high note singing and ear splitting splitting and guitars that make the ears bleed) 15 -- F. 2012 Music From Another Dimension (100% Testosterone free pop rock with blues influence. Adult contemporary love lyrics mixed with nasty kinky and funky wording. Sweet high note singing)

Damn...this is tough. Can't believe I've never tried ranking their albums until now having first seen Aerosmith at the Cow Palace in the 70's. I can't rank all of them so lets do the top 5... (these are ranked according to what they mean to me...) 1)Get you wings, RIP Ed White, ..can never forger what it felt like to "cruise the strip" with you bro listening to this album cranked on your deck... 2)Rocks 3)Toys 4)Permanent Vacation 5)Pump ...after that there are a bunch of Honorable Mentions...there's something good and bad from each thereafter..
