I have built this kit ages ago but should totally do another using the techniques you use. The quality and finish is kicked up to a completely different level.

I still cant imagine how you built the instrument panel. So far deeply impressing build.

Chad… man, I really miss your videos. I’ve learned so much from your painting techniques. I’m seriously hoping you do some more, especially a modern fighter jet paint video. Always keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks! I do need to get back to the workbench. Been spending time on the 3D design side.

Excellent work! Wow, I haven't built an Airfix kit since I was in the third grade in 1963 - I'll have to give their new tool kits a look - thanks for this terrific video.

You bet, thank you. Make sure to verify that the particular "red box" kit that you pick up is one of the newer tool ones. They are repackaging their older kits in the new red boxes as well. I think I have product links to the kits I've been building in the video description section. Thanks for the feedback!

Fantastic work, I have this kit in the stash but have only build the P40s and Zero from these new Airfix toolings. They are an excellent value, fit/finish is decent and build up to very nice models, even just box stock. Really like your attention to detail on canopy since you are opening the canopy and side door flap. Looking forward to the paint/weathering.

Thanks for the good words. Yes, these Airfix kits are hard to beat. Cockpit detail is a little basic around the instrument panel and I wish they'd make them all with 2 piece canopies but hey, for a few bucks, they are hard to beat. Have fun with yours!

Hi, congratulations for your washing technique, despite the years I have a modeling, there is always someone who teaches you. I wanted to ask, how long have you passed before removing the oil color put in the passenger compartment with the clean brush? Thanks a lot for the answer.

Thank you for the feedback. I really don't wait long, just a matter of minutes before I remove the oil using new white spirits. Hope this helps.

Thanks! It's really a great kit and for such a low price...hard to believe. Wrapping up the second and final installment now and should have the completed build video up in the next day or two. Cheers!

Great job and ideas on the canopy! I put it on as one piece, and it did not fit correctly. I had to use milliput to fill in the gaps. I love the scratch building you do. Looking forward to your future updates!

Thanks for the feedback. I just couldn't resist doing a little more on the cockpit. And I always try to open up the canopy so that folks can see the interior better. Fortunately, I had those extra SH parts laying around. May try to get in a Sword Mk. XIVe after I wrap up the Mk.1a.

Is the saw the only method I should try when cutting the canopy, or could a knife work?
@FlyingSModels
3 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't try the knife. The clear plastic is always brittle and will likely crack or break. Find a fine toothed razor saw and you'll be set.

I see why you want to keep the canopy open. You do put a lot into the cockpit detail. Nice, smart work

Yep, I like the add details the cockpits and to me, it adds more "life" to the model to see it with the canopy open. Thanks for the feedback.
