I have Air Skirts! This is my second winter. I had no issues like you guys did. I'm glad you got your issue solved. Prior to inflating I went over my underbelly with a fine tooth comb. Added pool noodles to edges, foam to corners, and taped down any "pokey's". Used all the plastic edge protectors the Skirts came with. 2nd, in my humble opinion Air Skirts were specifically made for Air Streams. Those that dont have Air Streams have to make adjustments for Air Skirts to fit. So what I did was only fit the Air Skirts where my water pipes and heating ducts run. My entire RV is NOT covered, but the seal the Air Skirts provide has allowed me to not turn on my furnace unless it is 19 degress or less outside! Bunch your skirts as close together as you can get them to eliminate "air gaps". I temp 4 zones. Outside, inside, subfloor, and the space between the AirSkirts. The space between the Air Skirts is 7 degrees higher than the outside air, even though the gauge is outside on the ground. The gaps from the Air Skirts provide air so humidity won't build. The Air Skirts occupies enough space underneath that cold air cannot just breeze in. I tried insulation board one winter and the humidity underneath was always in the 90's. Oh I forgot! I have 4 1 gallon bottles of ammonia with felt wicks , mothballs, and bait stations where there are gaps.

I’m not so much concerned about how they look but how well they perform so you were filling up your propane tanks every two days I guess the next question I have is I have a Grand design that supposedly has the Arctic package in it but the videos I’ve seen show a much thicker floor to keep the heat in but yeah they got cheap and didn’t use the stuff they did so I’m really down in them for that but I guess the bigger question is is are you really saving all this money with those skirts in place underneath I noticed your review was two years ago. Are you guys still using those air skirts? Are you saving money, and what is the average temperature going down to?

Hi I have airskirts for my Apex Nano 208bh. They sounded good but they take CONSTANT maintenance. I consult in the oilfield in the upper Rockies. Often gone from my RV up to 3 weeks. You cannot just inflate them and walk away. They deflate over time and any wind will blow them away. They need inflated every 2-3 days…

Hello Ryan... may I ask where you are located at? The reason I ask is because me and my friend are starting a new business and it is a vinyl tarp business for RV'S. It's a vinyl skirt business for rvs to be specific. We build them to custom fit your Rv . We make them easy to install and we can wrap your whole Rv, front to back! And even offer some really nice quarter turn locks that will hold up in the winter and severe winds. The last set that we built held up in a wind storm of 70mph winds!! And they look great! Hit me up if you are interested? We are based in Oregon and are really looking to reach out ... but it depends.. let me know!

Very helpful video. I currently have a custom vinyl skirt with adhesive snaps which has stayed on with no issues. But I’m considering AirSkirts for the insulation factor and still putting the vinyl cover over the skirts. But the AirSkirts price has had me holding off cause they really are expensive. Thanks for the honest review.

Thanks for the review. We are almost set on the airskirt but the one possibility we're contemplating in purchasing these expensive airskirts are Critters. Cats, Racoons, etc, clawing them. Heck maybe that's what happened to yours with all the holes. We have a dog but the cats around kinda scare me away from a $3100.00 Investment. thanks again for the review. It helped....

I have Air Skirts, and your comment was my biggest fear. I lived in an RV park that had many cats. I actually purchased a pellet gun to keep them away. Not to kill or injure, but just to let them know to keep away. I warned the landlord my Air Skirts are expensive, and I will protect at all costs. I added mothballs and 4 1 gallon bottles of ammonia with a felt wick underneath, and had no issues with animals.

We definitely needed the additional insulation skirting offers when camping in Heber City, Utah in the dead of winter. Camping in Las Vegas during the winter didn’t require skirting, but it was necessary in a ski climate. Our water line connection ended up freezing even with the skirts! Not to mention the sewage valves to drain our black tank. 🤢 and that was with a space heater under there!

@@onesummitre My trailer is 4 season and works great assuming you run the furnace to heat that space, for the exposed valves and drains, i wrapped mine with heat tape held on with large zip ties.. i plug it in a few hours before i plan on dumping, no more issues

For the cost of these types of products I'm better off buying more propane to run the furnace. Most I've ever spent on propane for winter $250 at $3.00 a gallon. It would take about 20 years of full time use to break even on the cost of airskirts. I seriously doubt the material will hold up that long.

@seairis616

@@titusmoto They could help if you have an RV without tank heating pads or heated under belly. In that scenario I would just use 1" foam board from the hardware store and make my own skirting for less than $100. I looked this video up for this product because a neighbor of mine was thinking of getting them. I was curious.

I bought the AirSkirts and they've been a huge pain. They blow away when it's windy and I've had to connect them together with bungee. There were several tubes that had holes. I also wasn't made them to easily fit in the storage bags. Also, the hose on the pump came off and it won't stay connected. I'm sorry I purchased them.

We didn’t. We looked on their website, and they do offer fillers for small gaps. However, we didn’t find anything to work around our tanks. But at this point, we’ve already spent so much on them and can’t really justify spending even more for the “perfect” fit. We thought the kit would have been that for us.

You over inflated them and punctured them on the underside of your trailer... that simple... no great mystery. If you watch the manufacturers video they specifically tell you not to inflate them to the max. You want a soft inflate that is full enough to keep them in place. In your next video, a lot less talking in front of the camera and more footage of the actual product - installation - etc. Thanks
