After doing most of the trails down at the O'Reilly's section of Lamington National Park. It was time to take on the Albert River Circuit. At 22km it's the longest of the trails with lots of waterfalls and some amazing lush rainforest as you walk along the trail.
Is it the best trail at O'Reilly's? You tell me but to really be able to judge it, you need to get in there and do it to be able to compare. I went in with an idea of what to expect after doing the other trails with the Tooloona circuit ranking as my favourite circuit there.
I finished with my mind blown at the spectacular beauty of it all. Just when I thought I'd seen the best of what it had to offer I turned the next corner and had to put the pieces of my mind back together again as it was once again blown by the spectacular ever changing scenery and waterfall.
After 6.5hrs and 23km with a nice long break at Echo Point to refuel and piece my fragile mind back together again for the final leg of the journey back along the Border Track my day was over and I was left feeling tired but amazed and relieved of all the stresses that had built up during the week in concrete jungle we live in.
