I am so very thankful to have found this channel. It has been helping me immensely the past week since I stumbled upon it. I don't believe it was merely coincidental. On day 93 of my sobriety, and finally starting to feel feelings again. A lot of abuse stemming from childhood into adulthood and toxic family and romantic relationships. It feels good to be able to cry again and finally begin to heal. Thank you for this channel and all you guys are doing to help others. I think that's what we humans are meant to do here in this time-space continuum.

“It’s the ACTION, not the knowledge that will keep you sober”.... There you have it folks, the foundation for sobriety in a nutshell. The key to having a great life, starts with a good pair of shoes. What we do with our feet, determines whether we will live, or die!

Will power is a dry drunk thing. I think your looking at your alcoholism when biting your nails until they bleed, vaping, obsessive working out or just feeling agitated for no reason. The alcohol use is a symptom of the problem not the alcohol is the problem causing you trouble. Don't treat the symptoms and hold your breath counting days etc. It's a relapse waiting to happen for most people.

Reason number 1. Some people aren’t ready to quit. Reason number 2. They believe that alcohol is the root problem, and put all their effort into trying not to drink. You can’t live in the problem and the solution at the same time. Pick one. ( I pick living in the solution on a daily basis, and have a great life because of it.)

Hi Marcus, I'm not a alcoholic i drink maybe 2 coolers a month, sometimes i don't drink at all, well anyway i left a relationship of a alcoholic, the individual would drink mainly vodka, remi, wine, they drink mostly every day, i seen a plastic green tea bottle in their kitchen sink they would wash it to keep, i assume they would put vodka in it to drink at work, co-workers probably thinking their drinking green tea. They been in emergency rm few times for inflamed pancreas,,, Yes our relationship was toxic, they refuse to seek help,, i left relationship, i bet money the individual still drinking, and also blister burn on lip probably frm smoking crack, and abusing pain pills. Very toxic individual. I pray for them. Can't help anyone if they refuse to help themselves. But it interested for me to hear your story of recovering frm alcoholism. Everything you stated its what the individual I'm talking about experienced and probably still is. She is hi jacked by alcohol.

Yep... I've been hijacked!! I do look forward to getting back to my core because I think I forgot who that is.. I forgot with this relapse in the last year that I don't have to regret everything and can be thankful for a new and better way of life that maybe I wouldn't have had I not gone through what I have.. I have to believe in my core 1st of all, that I AM WORTH this

A serious...but oddball question for you guys.... Why does an alcoholic understand every word you say and have answers for themselves WHILE drinking (me), but sober i don't have a damn clue what to do. I am the "happy drunk" if that's possible, but sober just miserable. But i know it's got to stop! Am i missing something, or did I just answer my own question?? You guys have more internal knowledge than most Dr's. Your story before getting sober is my exact story. But I lost everyone before I had the 1st drink.
@markg.4246

More than likely, you’re miserable because you have no fellowship in your life. Which means you’re living in the problem, instead of the solution. We must change the way we live, and the quickest way to do that is to get outside of ourselves. Go to meetings, clean house, and help others!

I feel the same, drunk me feels better and am more entertaining and interesting to myself and others. The downside has become too much to ignore now and although I'm in good health now, i do see how the poison is taking it's toll. Stay strong and nuff respect 🙏

Awesome. Channel ..I'm sober 11 years and one thing I say to help people is AVOID AA. It's a simple choice. Stop drinking and do not complicate with AA. I see guys in and out relapse and I say it ain't a relapse it was a choice to drink. insanity is staying in AA and relapse regularly and stay in AA while expect different results. Many 12 steppers are the perfect definition of INSANITY. Yet they refuse to open mind and consider other ways to stay sober. Rational recovery helped me identify my beast and I no longer have booze as an option. I made it not an option. Simple. It's easy and simple if you really want to stay sober. It ain't a disease it is aCHOICE

Just like your kindergarten teacher said. "Everybody's Different", A one size fits all approach and saying how easy something is doesn't offer insight or help, especially when a lot of people suffer from underlying mental health issues.

@@Lyka-clock that's all a cop out. If a person is an adult and knows right from wrong then they are able to stop drinking. Problem is.most are not stop for right reasons as well. If someone can't stop because mental health then they best go get professional help. AA is a pityfull program and we have many options for people who want to quit . Mental health issues are a whole.new cop out. We are talking about average person trying to get sober. Mental health victims need professional help , not a sober living program. Complete cop out , they must accept responsibility for their lives and many use This mental health cop out. Pathetic really

@@eddiespagetti8395 AA works for some people because they get a chance to talk about it, maybe for the first time. You don't have to bare knuckle everything like a cave man. Most people do things that they know are wrong but keep doing it and your probably guilty. How's your diet? A lot of suger and refined carbs? You know that can lead to serious health issues. Not getting regular excersize? enough sleep? Too much caffeine? Nicotine? You know better. That's all very simple for me, you just have no control over yourself.

Actually YOU are the self-righteous person, arrogantly thinking you are better than Marcus. If you weren't so empty headed and hateful you would realise he is not being arrogant, quite the opposite, he is helpfully sharing the lessons from the wrong things he realises and admits he has done. And after the introduction, Tim talked.
