I believe the purpose of lucky star is to allow you to, once being left out of a chase, become more aware of your teammates positions and allow you to approach them more quietly for a more safe healing from teammates.

Yeah it seems like a really good information perk for survivors. You dont get exact knowledge on killer location but knowing what gen is being w9rked on ad where all your teammates are can be the difference between dying and escaping. Plus, the 10 secs of no blood trails or scratchmarks is a nice added bonus to keep the killer from tracking you down again

@faceball3018 It will be similar on pinhead. Get a hit with 8 stacks of stbfl, then immediately cast a chain. If your aim is good, the combination of stbfl, rapid brutality and the chain will almost always ensure another hit. Skewered rat add-on which is often slept on goes great with this strat because it allows you to use a chain to get a hit, then re-cast it quickly after to secure the down.

They won't even sell the IP, they're just gonna let it die bc if they can't profit enough off it then no one can. :( I played it for many many hours, one of my favorite games of all time. It was very ahead of it's time and DBD only partially scratches the same itch. Monstrous killers like this do it better but yeah. There's still people who play it! You can only play the legacy version offline but some people enjoy it enough to run around with bots and such.

One small detail you didn't comment on for Alien Instinct, Scott is that it only tracks INJURED survivors, so if no one is injured, it does nothing. It'll be good for killers who can constantly be keeping the entire team injured, like Legion or Plague, will likely be a bit less useful for killers who have a hard time keeping teams injured.

That's a good thing though... Xeno doesn't need to be OP, once it becomes OP its not scary anymore, its just annoying and people don't want to play against it. I've won about 5 out of 12 games I've played where I've tried to escape tonight, and I have 2k+ hours. He feels balanced.

I think the last perk is meant to make locker escapes from chase slightly more reliable and to give you direction towards gens or teammates to progress or heal after your escape. I agree that blood is a bit of a problem still.

The set speed for Chemical Trap is so quick you can put it on after stun or if killer tries to mindgame for a sec you can plop it on while they are doing their silly little mindgames.

What do you mean? So if I pick up a pallet with a trap on it, the trap sticks to the pallet and is still trapped when dropped? What does "for as long as chemical trap is active" mean? Is there a deactivation condition for it outside of it activating?

I can imagine Ultimate Weapon to be good on oni. A lot of people just hide when you use your ability so the general trend is to use power when you see someone. But with the perk you can use power from a far and traverse the map quickly AND still find someone even if they hide

It's fantastic on pretty much any high mobility killer. Oni, Blight, Nurse...on top of that you can combo it with Dead Man's Switch to interrupt gen progress for anyone you're *not* chasing.

Some notes about Chrmical Trap are that it works with any means necessary, so if you believe the killer is coming near you can prematurely drop it and setup the perk. The interaction to set it up is incredibly short, allowing you to have it while the killer is in the stun animation. Also, because of any means this works against spirit fury.

Chemical trap can also be a really good time waster in medium loops. Instead of stunning the killer and running away, you can stun and use it then loop around for a bit. If the killer decides to break the pallet you probably get the same distance as running after a stun, but you wasted more time for the killer.

My main issue with alien instinct is the oblivious effect tells the survivor they are being seen. That alone kind of robs the perk of the unexpected ambush potential it seems to be designed around.

It's not a bad thing that a perk has signs it's being used, even if it's a stealth perk. Trail of Torment is a pretty solid perk despite it causing a generator to glow yellow. Tinkerer is still effective even after you know about it from being ambushed the first time. I'd still prefer not being hunted with aura reading and obliviousness while I'm injured, even if i know it's coming.

The second thing I'm worried about is how often that injured survivor will just be the last person off the hook, and how often that might be someone with off the record. I've moved away from bbq in favor of discordance with the off the record meta shift for my basic info. This perk comes with similar flaws and the lack of it being able to be used for that first reason just means it's not a perk for me. That is okay though, and I'm happy to hear someone else thinks it's solid and usable.

Light footed would also be a pretty useful counter against spirit. If they run mother daughter then all they can go off of is the survivor noises. If they go for recharge then they'll still be able to see the scratch marks but it's a very interesting perk for sure

I think with Ultimate Weapon they choose Blindness because it's a counter to Windows of Opportunity or other aura reading that would help you in chase so Blindness does help more then you think especially with Windows being the number one most ran perk.

Removing 2.7 seconds of weapon wipe, Rapid Brutality gives you 1,46m on the survivor. With 8 stacks of STBFL, it gives you 1,68m. STBFL at 8 stacks lets you walk 1,08s early after hitting, giving you 4m on the survivor. Together, 8 STBFL and RB will give you a total of 5.7m on the survivor. To give an idea, 5,7m is about 1m more than the additional lunge you get with Coup de Grâce, it is about half of the inside of killer shack.

Chemical trap is actually good fun with Any Means Necessary! Since all survivors see the aura of a trapped pallet, you can drop a god pallet, attatch the trap, pick it up and a teammate or yourself could use it in chase later within that 120 window. If you get a stun and a blind a killer is likely to break it.

Lucky star might be better if it let you get a silent rushed exit of the locker. Then you could quick and quiet into a locker, silently rush out of it and get the effects mid chase.

From what I've seen everyone misses the fact that you can simply use the pallet trap mid chase. And I think this perk gonna be a huge problem. Imagine survivors droping save pallet or even god pallet and then trap it right in your face. At this point the chase is lost. The best you can do is take the L and go search for another player. This is much scarier than blast mine. Imagine 4 players with MFT+Chemical Trap on Gideon... Yikes

I've gotten value from Lucky Star 10 out of 10 attempts tonight using Inner Strength as combo. It's really good, the killer can't hear your grunts of pain in the locker, so even if there's a tiny little bit of blood around it, its strong, combine it with lucky break and quick and quiet (I've not even done that yet) it'll be damn good, similar to the bite the bullet build. You could do it with Iron Will but Lucky Star at least gives you the added bonus of leaving no tracks after leaving the locker too.

They definitely wanted Lucky Star to be used in synergy with Inner Healing. Heal up in the locker then it gives you some idea of where you could go next. Alternately, it of course has great synergy with Head On and Quick and Quiet, where usually getting into a locker while injured is fairly risky due to the noise, Lucky Star can give you opportunity to try it, giving even a second more time for Head On to activate. Could even throw off good killers that are adept with using audio in combination with Deception; again all of these rely on you being injured and more so acting as a Hail Mary. It clearly isn't meant to be meta, more so a fun addition to the whole locker centered shenanigans. If you have enough time, survivors can also run past a locker to throw their scratch marks and blood forward then run back into the locker for a bit of misdirection, since you won't make any noise while in the locker, it would be very unlikely that even good killers would just assume you have Lucky Star (considering it's niche aspect) and play around all of a sudden not hearing grunts of pain specifically while in a locker.

The only use for the Blindness effect in Ultimate Weapon would be to counter Windows of Opportunity, but if you're a good survivor you know where the pallets and windows are anyway.

I think the biggest downside to Alien Instinct is that the survivor who gains oblivious instantly knows they were revealed to the killer and are likely the next target. It gives the survivor free information that they can use to preemptively hide or run before you reach them.

Windows of opportunity is the most played perk by survivors and make low to mid skill survs use it to run killers (myself included because I dont play enough to have maps memorized). So the blindness may not help that much at top levels but for probably 60-70% of the player base its gonna be brutal.

Ultimate Weapon paired with Dead Man Switch is gonna be crazy. Its basically a Static Blast aura for every killer which gives you an easy time to trigger Dead Man Switch because you let go of the gen while screaming.

Probably, what's interesting is how many similarities this chapter has with the stranger things one. Nancy and Ripley have 2 perks that are very similar, and Xenomorph just feels like a modernized, beefed up demogorgon.

Honestly, chemical trap might be way more useful depending on how it works. If you can put the trap on in a split second, then theoretically you can throw a pallet regularly in a chase and apply it in the split second it takes for the killer to react and break it. However, if its gonna be like 3 seconds (like blast mine and wiretap where you have to do the gen for at least 3 seconds) then its as you said.

You place it down in a split second, there's not even a progress bar. You can definitely drop a pallet in front of the killer and plop it down before the killer has a chance to do anything. If they don't decide to make it so it takes a few seconds to place this thing down for the live game, this perk is going to be a massive problem.

The one key component of Ultimate Weapon is that it is a 30-yard interrupt aura that can only be countered by one of the most terrible survivor perks in the game. Combine this with Dead Man's Switch on a mobility killer like Blight and you can bring the entire game to a standstill with little to no counterplay other than stop working on any gens after a hook (even then, you're still giving the killer a free chase.)

With the pallet trap perk the best use would be pre dropping a good pallet and trapping it , later when the killer Has to kick it You gain way more distance than just normal stun

Chemical Trap is useful to use when you drop the pallet. If you have a good distance to drop and use the trap on a god pallet you are going to make a huge distance. It won’t work against some killers like Pyramid, Nemesis or Xeno that can hit you through the pallet

Honestly, rapid brutality probably won't effect me with its downside, mainly because i use bloodlust as an indicator to drop chase if the loop is too good or i can't catch the survivor.

I would disagree that STBFL has no downside, the downside is that you can't hit the obsession without losing stacks, which is the whole reason why STBFL is only really good on certain characters. Rapid Brutality will likely be strong on ANY M1 killer, not just the ones that can use a special attack to hit the obsession. Also, Chemical Trap might be pretty strong actually if you can put it on a pallet after stunning a killer

Survivor perks are pretty mediocre. You have to jump through a few situational hoops for them to be considered a good perk. Killer perks all seem reasonable and well done, although there's some competition between existing perks that do very similar things. That 5% haste will be worth watching. It'll either be useless on killers or broken on very specific builds and killers. Especially after all the lamentations over Made for This, there's not a lot of talk about it. I don't see it as being a problem though.

Rapid Brutality will be great on killers that break their own bloodlust like Clown. Chemical Trap will be nerfed for sure. The set time will be increased. Scott says there arn't many dropped pallets but doesn't take into account that the setting time is like 0.5 of a seconds meaning you can set the trap on any pallet you drop mid chase. Lucky Star, Deception, Quick and Quiet. Deception the 1st locker, hides your scratch marks and blood, quick and quiet a different locker activateing Lucky Star.

I think you missed that Alien Instinct is the furthest INJURED survivor. It's actually better than chilli in most play styles. Imagine you hook a survivor, and move on to a 2nd chase. They unhook right as you get your 2nd hook. You check a locker, and can now see the exact location where the first survivor is, you know hes hurt, and can see him no matter the range etc. Zip on over, break up the healing, ez down. You can also use it if you lost your target after hitting them. Like they used dance with me or lucky break, and got out of LOS. Check a locker, boom aura reading on that specific survivor. I think the injured part was supposed to be a downside, but honestly it seems like a huge plus. Hurt someone, find them anytime.

Chemical Trap works on pallets that are reset with Any Means, so you can trap good pallets if you know someone is going to say loop shack or something. That may change after the PTB, but it works, even with Spirit Fury.

Ultimate weapon causing blindness kinda counters Dark Sense since it lets you see the killer’s aura when they’re within a certain distance after a gen pops. I’ve been using Dark Sense to make some stupid stealth plays in kyf lobbies and I think this would directly prevent something like that :)

in testing rapid brutality, the timer resets if you hit a survivor again during that 10 secs, but the speed boost doesnt stack. so its only ever the 5%, thankfully

Rapid brutality will be great/fun on a few killers such as scratched mirror myers,since you cannot gain bloodlust anyway while undetectable,or on any killers that can go trough pallets pretty easilly such as demogorgon,nemesis or bubba Also this will synergize very well with stbfl ofc,brutal strength,hex blood favor,infectious fright or any of the other perks that encourage you to chase and go for other nearby survivor to keep the perk activated as much as possible I use forced hesitation,infectious fright rapid brutality and stbfl on demogorgon and the same for myers but replace infectious for wtv youd like i use knockout or devour hope personally...its really fun! As for Ultimate weapon,i came up with a similar build on huntress with darkness revealed,infectious fright,iron maiden and ultimate weapon,you shoot,you reload,you gain aura read,you throw hatchet or go there and if the survivor hide when you get there you reveal them again if you down someone you are rewarded for "spreading the pain"(i dont like the term slugging)and the added benefit of the blindess can be annoying if you hide the people you down,there no escaping this fucking build😅reload and repeat...its pretty naughty on every inside maps and dead dawg saloon

With lucky star u can exit the locker immediately and run around with no blood or grunts of pain. So prob not as bad as you think. And yes you can place the trap immediately on the pallet as you throw it down

I feel like Lucky Star's only real use will be one of the support perks to throw on Head On builds. No grunts of pain will give the killer just that much more hesitation to get Head On loaded up and ready to use. Lucky Star, Head On, Quick and Quiet, and Vigil could make for a silly time.

Why does no one ever mention the fact that Rapid Brutality has no downside on m1 killers who never get bloodlust in the first place? Killers like clown, pinhead and singularity. Save + rapid is insane on clown and pinhead, and rapid on its own is insane on singularity using family photo to get +10% haste after a teleport

I think there's Blindness on Ultimate Weapon specifically for countering perks like windows, bond, wiretap, chemical trap, etc etc. the survivor knows you're coming for them, but if they panic they'll go the wrong way and won't get value from their perks or their teammates

You can use Any Means on a pallet you trap with Chemical trap, so you can trap pallets like shack before chasing there. (this is very niche, but if you can have one person trapping pallets and resetting them while someone else uses the pallet it's not too bad)

Game Afoot gives you the same amount of haste as Rapid Brutality with the advantage of not activating until you're finished with the pallet break animation and not stuck in blade wipe. Yet Game Afoot was never considered strong or OP since that amount of haste isn't enough to majorly affect a chase.

The pallet trap one is especially evil because it really only hurts Killers with no movement ability (M1 Killers) while stronger/faster Killers (Wesker, Blight, any teleporting Killer etc.) won't care that much. It's also a great anti-Bubba tool if the pallet was dropped previously since if he breaks it he basically loses the chase. 50% imo is _way_ too much even for 4 seconds (even for 4 seconds, you're still slower than Nurse. Imagine Trapper or Nemy dealing with that sh*t, the chase is automatically lost unless the Survivor goes afk). Like most chapters, the Killer perks are pretty mid on their own, only Rapid Brutality is truly dangerous if combined with STBFL.

all I can really think about is how powerful chemical trap will be on god pallets specifically shack pallets. like yeah you can only use that once and it's not gonna be great but I'm thinking you pre drop shack pallet place the trap and then shack just becomes a ungodly safe zone, u either force the killer to take the slow and basically get a free escape card or the killer can try and force you out of shack but as long as you have that pallet ur kinda invincible. although I imagine in most cases this won't be that practical or easily pulled off

Chemical Trap will stay active when put upright using Any Means Necessary, meaning that you can stun a killer, blind them and if they decide to break the pallet, they get slowed and you can make it more or less anywhere

"STBFL has no inherent downside" except hitting the obsession is a downside. Sometimes they're all you find, sometimes they're bodyblocking, etc. Alien Instinct also has the downside that it only effects an Injured survivor, so if everyone's healthy it's useless. /laughs in Plague

i'd love if rapid brutality worked with special attacks too, it just kinda incentivises stbfl which is already insanely popular and kinda stale to see, i'd love to see killers rewarded more for hitting their powers and think that'd make the loss of bloodlust actually worth the upside (which is cool cause fuck BL) i also might actually use lucky star, its kinda nice just being able to hop in and out of a locker and immediately see where everyone is to go for beamer saves. the grunts of pain and blood being removed is definitely worthless though. also worth mentioning is chemical trap having great synergy with any means, I checked and the trap stays on after you pick up the pallet, so you can actually preplace a trap on a good pallet to use later. I almost wish the trap stayed on the pallet forever just for this synergy.

Only problem I see is the best killers are ones that mainly attack with their power. IE: Nurse, Blight, Wesker, Huntress. So while it is strong with STBFL, I don't think killers with very strong attacks linked to their power need a perk like that. Where m1 killers do like clown.

@@tristanward4309 its not like letting it work with special attacks mean it wouldn't work with basics as well - it'd just be a buff to the perk that I'd really like cause i don't enjoy perks that deincentivise power usage, and let's be real a perk like that on the best killers in the game would never come close to just running slowdown on them anyways, it would only be a fun chase perk to run.

Overcome, lucky break, lucky star, inner healing. Get crazy distance, jump into a locker, heal up. Rinse and repeat to waste a shit load of time.

Chemical Trap and Lithe will win a lot of chases, 150% speed while the killer is moving at 65% is a ton of distance, enough to break chase and juke forcing the killer to look for someone again.

In alot of my games today ive had people run Chemical Trap and Any Means Necessary, they pre-drop a god or quite safe pallet, arm the trap, then pick it back up to use later in a chase, quite strong and usually means a lost chase.

My beef with Chemical Trap is that unlike the other "gotcha" perks like DS or Blast Mine is that the killer can physically see it coming, there's an actual trap on the pallet that's pretty big, but you would have no way of knowing if you are about to hit a blast mine when kicking a generator. Is this a good or a bad thing? I think it could be a bit of both, the mindgame of leaving a trap there that the killer can see could be quite the trick to extend a loop or get away, but it's also a bad thing that you couldn't use it to catch the killer off guard, because they are eating the trap willingly. (unless this is a PTB-only feature, in which case, disregard all this)

I'm asking myself: Why should someone chose Rapid Brutality over PWYF? Rapid Brutality gives you a speed boost for effectively 7 seconds after already having hit someone who will probably still make it to a window or pallet (unless they're in a deadzone which means the speed boost isn't that important anyways). This window or pallet will then make those few seconds of haste completely useless as they can just continue to normaly play the tile. PWYF on the other hand gives you a speed boost until the next hit happens after having just so much as glimpsed at the obsession and is stackable. Stackable meaning after the hit and losing a stack, you may still retain a stack or two which will make the second hit so much easier. Different conditions, I know, and sure, one might be easier to obtain than the other depending on survivor playstyle, but one of those perks seems inherently stronger than the other to me.

I think it might make more sense if the blindness and obliviousness were swapped on the two killer perks: Making the distant injured person blind so they can't find others to heal, and making the nearby people who scream oblivious so they can't hear you coming makes more sense to me.

oblivious wouldnt make much sense sine the scream will alarm the screaming survivor of your most probable approach blindness on the other hand can help think for a start of windows of opportunity

For Chemical Trap, I can see a problem of people using Any Means Necessary and dropping shack pallet and then trapping it and resetting it. Chemical Trap can become a problem with Any Means.

Doesn't alien instinct perk counters itself? Like I mean, if the killer hooks someone and you get the oblivious status effect, you already know that he is in fact seeing your aura so you kinda can counter play it why going in one direction and then turn around in that 5 second window or at the very least be prepared of the killer coming for you huh?

I think making a perk that does something as risky as getting rid of bloodlust is such an awesomely bold move by the devs. Being given the choice to remove a crucial feature that was made years ago to stop infinite loops is such a gamble.

Considering how map rng can screw killers over I don't think rapid brutality should completely remove blood lust but instead cap blood lust to tier 1
