i swapped my 4k for a 4age and i always wanted to build that K motor.. my mechanic used to kill a 2k moded all day in past ............but for 4k said no much room due to small gap big pistons let in gasket!!!!!! what if 2k or 3k become the blocks to build ? ? is there any room for more durability in high rpms!!!!

That is such a cool project, I was thinking doing something like this on my ke30 instead of putting in a 4age. Could something like this be done with a 3k-c? Thanks in advance!

Yes, it's very possible to do a similar build! Although as these engines are very old now some parts are hard to come by, but not impossible. I would highly suggest getting the block and head pressure tested, hardness tested, and sonic tested(to determine how far you can safely bore out the cylinders) but if you're just going for a standard oversized piston there should be no issues whatsoever even if you ought not to do the sonic testing. I hope I was able to help you out.

I'm browsing for 3K-R here in YT then saw your video about K-Engines and this is what I love most (because 3K-R is nothing but just a dream for me). Fun facts! 4K Engine is very popular here in the Philippines for "Owner Type Jeep" (Custom Built Jeep) because of its reliability and fuel economy (even if it's old, BUT CHEAP!). Most of the engines here are from Japan Surplus and some are Local Surplus or Junk Yards ("Katayan" in our native language which means slaughterhouse or place to butcher meat). I have one right now and an Owner Type Jeep built for general use only (Econo Specs but with Modern Electronic System) with a 4K Engine, 4 Speed Manual Trans, having an Aftermarket Mohashi Carburetor (Japan made I think), GTX Electronic Distributor (Taiwan Made), and IC Type Alternator (from Toyota Revo 7K Engine). After watching your 3K-R Engine Video, now I am now day dreaming of a Sleeper KP61 Starlet having that engine, deym! Hahah! Great Video sir! Will follow your future contents! Thanks! =D

I noticed that the Toyota 4K bears a resemblance to the Austin A & B-Series, but was it derived from the Austin engines?
@JWorldAdventures
Жыл бұрын
@Chris Henniker No they were not derived from the Austin A & B series. Although the Nissan E, A, And Even the CA Series engine's were derived from the Austin, by having the characteristic un-skirted crankcase.

Hi there like you said the standard conrods can be used with the piston but do you think it will hold 8k rpm
@JWorldAdventures
Жыл бұрын
They will hold for a short period of time, but will quickly fail due to fatigue. So I advice against doing so, and just limit at best around 7k rpm for reliability.

Hi, great info in this vid, with a small amount of work and money this up grade is a monster. The corolla i have atm wil be quite a brute with this set up. i might put yam r1 carbs to see what the response will be, Just for kicks!
@JWorldAdventures

Hey there @findvoltage!! Thank you so much for the kind words!! Yes, it's quite a beast no doubt. And I believe with the r1 carbs the response would be better as it's considered to be similar to individual throttle bodies.

need some help here, i wanted to upgrade my mechanical fuel pump can someone suggest which kind of fuel pump should i use.. currently using bike carbs
@JWorldAdventures
2 жыл бұрын
Hey there, @Ian Dwayne!! Thanks for the question. And in answering your question, I assume that you are referring to the FCR bike carbs yes? Then I highly suggest ditching the mechanical fuel pump and blocking it off and install an electric pump that runs at 4-5 psi and capable of 150L/Hr that should keep your bike carbs happy. I hope that answers your question. Take care👍👍👍

Hello, is the cylinder head suitable from 5k to 4k?
@JWorldAdventures
Жыл бұрын
Yes, they are interchangeable. I do highly advice to use high octane 98 RON or 100 RON if you can as the compression ratio will increase with the installation of the 5K cylinder head. Generally in the region of 13:1 to 14:1 I hope that I was able to help you out!! Have a good one!!👍👍👍

@JWorldAdventures

@@RENEMONRO Yes, they are compatible. And you should also use the camshaft from the 5k as they are made for use with the hydraulic compensators/ lifters.
