@Plexpara I don’t necessarily like to watch it, I think it’s just a part of the sport. Wether I like it or not doesn’t matter on its own though. There’s something inherently good with fairness/sportsmanship and something inherently bad with “cheating”. So I ask why would you categorically put slipping with something inherently bad versus something inherently good? Maybe it’s the same reason why you don’t like watching it.

@@ccbgaming6994 You know..i just hate every round someone is slipping away. I like to see real Armwrestling. Dudes standing on the Table and really find out who is the better Armwrestler. I am exited to see who win and they slip again and again every round...annoying. To me thats not sportsmanship. Dont run away. Face your opponent like a man.That was my point.
@ccbgaming6994

@Plexpara I respect where your annoyance is coming from. It can definitely get old watching the slip once or twice every round. However, I disagree with your comments about sportsmanship and that it’s not “real Armwrestling”. Armwrestling is a combat sport just like any other. Both strength and intelligence are needed. If you’re fighting someone in the octagon and you’re in a vulnerable position, the best option may be to get out of that position rather than stay there. Same thing applies to Armwrestling. Outside the straps it’s much easier for one’s weakest link, the fingers, to get exposed. If this happens, for most cases it’s dumb to attempt to fight while you can’t access your full power. That is one reason people slip. The other reason people slip is because the straps help competitors gain access to more power in almost every style. The function of the strap is to prevent slipping. What I believe is the main reason there is higher frequency of professional matches that end up in straps is because toprolling has become the popular style and is growing in popularity. Toprolling is of outside armwrestling attacking the hand/fingers meaning as I stated slipping is more likely to happen. So I don’t really believe slipping is unsportsmanlike, because it isn’t cheating and it’s part of the rules/nature of the sport. That’s my perspective on it but we don’t have to agree on this.
