Just because you're a man doesn't mean you're less likely to have std, less likely to have multiple baby mama's, and less likely to have commitment issues. A man who has 4 kids by 4 different women isn't any different than a woman having 4 kids by 4 different men. In fact, a man who has multiple baby mama's will more than likely be a broke ass man from all the child support he is playing. I always tell them, I cannot master you if you do not master yourselves, as you can only offer consistently what you have conscious control of. But I also consider it my duty to serve their growth just as much as it is theirs to serve my will, and to that end, making sure they grow to a point of knowing and being able to rely on themselves is incredibly important. That is meant for everyone. I'm sorry you were left without this. And that's nothing against your late husband. There's obviously a lot of love there for it to have lasted 40 years. Nah. If you don't look up to someone then why are you lucky to have them? What makes them better than someone else? If they aren't better than other options then why pick them? If they are not better than others then what does that say about you? Is your value and quality as a person only average and deserving of an average mate? Or are you above average quality because you strive to be of high quality? In which case don't you want a pattern who strives to be of high quality as well? In a good relationship the man and the woman should idolize each other. You should be greatful and count yourself lucky to have someone as great as them and you should pressure yourself to make sure your doing your best to deserve them . Likewise they should be greatful and proud that they have a premium partner like you. They should strive to do Their best to be worthy of you. Neither of you really appreciative of eachother and both of you thinking the other isn't special means that the person is easily replaced. They are common place after all. So why bother investing? Why stick with them when they are at their weak points and need your help? Why should they stick by you when you need them Most? I don't know if you have ever actually been In a situation where you needed help and there was Noone who cared to help you, but it's a situation that is best avoided. Another reason you should idolize the partner is something you already pointed out. You should idolize your parents and your teachers. ( actually not your teachers. They are actually the last people to idolize. If they are great at something they should be out doing it. Not sitting around telling other people to do it instead. A good teacher doesn't try to get you to emulate the teacher. A good teacher tries to get you to emulate someone who is superior to them. Otherwise teachers teaching teachers teaching teachers means that each generation learns less and less then the previous. If teacher gets you to emulate the best then your get students who become like the best and others are taught to be like the beat and others are taught to be like the best. If they are the best they should be our pushing the ceiling of what is best higher and higher as they continue to master their skills. ) As far as parents yes you should be able to idolize them hopefully. And that's exactly why you should idolize your partner. Because when you have kids. And they idolize you both do you want then idolizomg standard basic parents? Or looking up to parents that are both worth idolizing. If you can't look up to your partner and he can't look up to you. Why would you expect you children. To look up to you guys? Do you only want normal basic non special Children or do you want above average awesome children that you are lucky to have and are not easily replaced. Or are you not going to bother doing your best for them and being worthy of superior children?

I genuinely hate the argument that men can have sex without emotional ties. Sex is intimate for a man. You’ll often hear it said that women need intimacy to build up into sex whereas for men the sex is the intimacy. Thus why it is wrong to withhold sex from your husband in a manipulative manner. It does not matter if there is not an “emotional connection” between the man and the sex partner to begin with. There will be one after the fact to some extent. The partner is fulfilling a desire within the man and that is inherently emotional. Can a man ignore the emotional aspect of it better than a woman? Maybe. Monogamy is actually more common in primates than in other orders of animals. Especially in the multiple different human species over the last hundred thousand years. Tight family units, gave them and other primates an advantage through teamwork, and dedication, and most importantly in raising offspring. The chances of offspring survival go up when there are family units including fathers, and brothers. Monogamy is one of the key reasons we as a species survived the way we did. Evolution is what shifted us to the way we are, but some of those distant sexual roots can come out making people desire different things. I mean bonobos have to be one of the horniest animals on earth, but they still value tight family bonds. While gibbons mate for life and raise their kids all the way until they leave home and form their own family. I would say were not designed to be polygamous, but those desires can still be there.

Exactly. Men who are submitted to God are going to be "beta" in the sense that they are going to be restrained and not living according to their natural sin nature. They are only going to have sex with one woman within the covenant of a lifelong marriage. They are taught things like "in humility count others more significant than yourselves" and "blessed are the meek." But they are also going to be "alpha" in the sense that they have convictions that are often counter-cultural and they aren't going to just go with the flow and the social pressure of other people. If they have families they are going to lead their families to believe and live that way too. The whole alpha vs. beta dichotomy doesn't work there. The problem is when you guys say a man can still be in love and cheat, you need to first off define what love is. Love is not a warm fuzzy feeling in your belly, love is not an emotion or passionate feeling. Love is a decision, I t’s a commitment, love is a person that knows the real you inside and out and stays committed to you day in day out good or bad days. Love is putting the other person before yourself. Love is selfless - what you are taking about is lust or infatuation - lust is selfish. So cheating on someone can never ever be love since it’s putting yourself before your partner.

It's fine to agree with someone but if you find a need to quote someone verbatim, instead of putting things in your own words, you are probably a follower. Not an alpha. Technically in this whole alpha beta dynamic someone is always going to be a beta. You can't all be alphas. You have leaders, and follower. And yes someone that is beta in one group might be an alpha in another. But that is not like what most people talk about when they discus that dynamic. It sounds that to some alpha is always an alpha and beta is always a beta. That is why I have a problem with this dynamic. To me usual human perception of alpha beta dynamic is about belittling those you are above. If you are an alpha you have to keep some of them in check, in their place. Very disrespectful. And if I remember correctly that whole dynamic is based on flowed understanding of in-group, human or animal, interactions. But that's a separate issue.

I’m seeing it in the idea behind Christian beliefs on how men and women were originally formed. Before we fell into sin, Adam and Eve had the ideal relationship where God literally made eve from him, showing how their bond is so strong, and just supposed to be them, Adam desiring only her and eve desiring only him. She was made to help him, and him to utterly love her. Then when the fall of mankind took their original build by God, and became the opposite of what God designed as sin usually behaves. It became corrupted yet the norm, causing man’s eye and sexual drive to wander, and women to not wish to be his helper anymore. So we say it how men are -to want to sleep with many women -which is not necessarily untrue, but it’s not the true way God made men to be. How beautiful a one man and one woman relationship can be if they strive to work hard to be the best you can in a corrupt world. Just like we accept death as part of nature, so we too accept bad behavior by either gender as how they are made. Death only became natural as it is the only way we know the world to be since we never saw how it was supposed to be. Doesn’t make it right or good because it’s “ part of life.”

When it comes to multiple women, it depended on the nuance for me. 1) I've had a variety of women in my life whose company that I enjoyed that I wasn't in love with. That's why keeping rotations was easy, and I enjoyed the different experiences. 2) But I've also had serious GF's that I really connected with and had love for. In those cases, I had zero interest in other women and was 100% monogamous.

Even with hookups guys *often* still have emotions involved. It may not be love, but jealousy, anger, possessiveness, disgust, hatred, etc - ALL emotions, all have been common responses. You are thinking of mammals in general. You need to think of the differences humans have. A cat can have several kittens at once in a very short time and they walk around and become independent very fast. They don’t need the father at all. Humans are different. Women rarely become pregnant immediately and have a pregnant period of 9 full month, where she is theoretically very vulnerable. There is a reason why most people feel very protective of pregnant women. After that a baby is practically helpless for at least a year. And than it takes 5 year before it can communicate to a certain level. After that education until at least 15. That was and will always be true. Evolutionary it makes sense that we fall in love and form a family. It has the highest success rate for the survival of offsprings. The idea that a men spreads it seed, is not functional for us as a species

@@chupacabra-smith I think at least to me it was unclear. I don’t give both necessarily room, because at least psychological it doesn’t lead to happiness. The idea we have surpassed evolution is quite dangerous. I agree that society isn’t formed any longer like we acted before in a very small period of time on a grander scheme, but is it healthy? If we can believe studies most will clearly show that the formation of stable families is the best for everyone involved. Not only direct member profit of this, but grandparents and so on as well. What we often see especially in cities is that most are just overwhelmed by the choices of possible partners and constantly look for a better opportunity. So the big game changers were humans living in bigger communities unable to form close bonds and working contraception. I would never take contraceptions out of the picture again, but it should be more discussed what effects the constant change of partners has on the mind for men and women alike. Unfortunately we are slaves to our nature and it punishes us in the form of depression and other mental problems, if we don’t live like we are supposed to. But this is just for the majority of people, there are obviously some who don’t have problems at all with this

My issue is if their belief is a majority of men have the impulse to have multiple partners and a majority of women do not have this impulse, the way that too many of these men approach this imbalance is by being deceptive to multiple women who want monogamy to fuel their own selfish impulses. It is selfish because too many men who want to live a polygamous lifestyle resort to deception because the pool of women accessible to them are likely not in agreement with that lifestyle. In theory it would be great if these people were transparent and honest, but the reality is many of these “alpha” types that subscribe to multiple partners are in fact deceptive about their practices to one or more of the women they try to get with.

I did not know she was married when we first meet. I did not find out tell 3 months of hanging out with her. She was so much fun to be with, I wanted her to move in with me and some day get married. She outright turned me down and let me know she was married. I did my best to try and get her to leave her husband. She went on to tell me. she would never leave him, for she loved him. She told me it was only do to her husband health that she needed me and I was just her sex toy. She love spending time with me and having fun, but she would never love me like she did her husband. For first time in my life, I realized sex had not one thing to do with love, and I felt envy over her husband, knowing he had one thing I did not. The real love of some one like that. Lucky for me, I found some one a few years latter, I knew I could share the same kind of love. We were to gather for over 16 years tell she died. After being with my last wife, I no longer wanted be to with any other woman. For the fact, I not only loved her, I was in love with her with all my heart and know I will never feel right with any other woman.

As in many such discussions these days, I find it a bit concerning that so many people can't even agree that the first answer is "of course" before getting into what they think about it and how we should deal with it. People who fail to acknowledge such basic underlying facts are one or more of several things that, frankly, makes further discussion fruitless. In this case either - Unable to understand the question (about biology, not how we ought to act) - Ignorant (about how evolution selected) - In denial (for ego or religious reasons) - Knowingly spreading a false view (in order to support their position) As if having such tendencies would not make it even greater that we can, as they say, choose not to follow them.

Regarding the first question: are men designed to want to sleep with multiple women. I recall reading some research which compared the size of the scrotum of a primate in relation to the fact if the animal was monogamous or not. For example: gorillas, where only the dominant male will mate, have small testicles. Chimpanzees on the other hand, where both males and females like to mate with multiple partners, have large testicles. Human testicles are about 50 grams, gorilla 30 grams and chimpanzee 150 grams. So no, biogically humans are not designed to sleep with multiple partners in a short period of time, but we seem to be designed as not as monogamous as gorillas.

The answer to "Are men designed to want to have sex with multiple women," the answer is an extremely obvious no, because biologically men are "happy to have sex", biologically there is nothing about the woman that matters besides "owns a vagina" and "does not cause physical pain to me" and "is not being raped", etc. And mentally or in reality, as opposed to biologically, "most men" are human beings, and since human beings hope to have sex with exactly one other human being during their lives, it's obvious that "men" cannot be "designed to" "want to" have sex with multiple women, otherwise the majority of men would hope to do that, but yet they don't, which is why any man who does attempt to this is "creepy", hated, rightfully jailed, called "disgusting", etc., by everyone else in society.

I can't believe that so many people, on two shows, are talking about this whitout checking if there's even any significant research on the suject rather than just a lot of opinions. I've heard of a study where men are in a commited relationship and they measure the amount they ejaculate in their condoms, and then the second group of men are in commited relationships that have sex with at least one other person and they had stronger orgasims and ejaculated more, which seems to indicate that biologically we are intended to seek more than one partner at time. Also men in long term relationships usually experience a decrease in testosterone instead of an increase when they're having sex with multiple women, so these are the kind of studies we really need to hear more about and see more research on the suject vs a lot of guessing and opinions. The opinions could interesting to see what people suggest we do after making conclusions based on evidence, but there should certainly be an emphasis on research for this topic.

The question "Are men designed..." like many Jubilee questions is a slightly skewed starting point. They're asking the question for a scientific opinion, but the basis of the question uses the word "design" which implies an unscientific belief that we were "designed." The bible is a significant work of poetry, and an amalgamation of many stories of civilized humanity. I'm not saying there's no universal "design" per say, but the creator is not focused on earth or humanity, and it's more likely that many of the genesis stories are not about the creator of the universe, but just beings from the heavens that are far more advanced than us. If you put science and theology together you come up with a more accurate story than pitting them against the other. Evolutionary biologist Brett Weinstein talks about how culture is in fact epigenetic. So lets assume that "design" means through a process of adaptation. Then men were designed differently at times due to different cultures. But if you compare animals in the wild that are monogamous, do they "think" about sleeping with other partners but simply choose not to? Do they mate after their mate dies? If you remove the epigenetic model and focus on what happens in the mind, men think about it. Thoughts are an adaptation for ways to conceptualize and specialize and share information for a task with other humans. So the adaptation to have thoughts about sleeping with other people is natural in design. So we are designed to do it. And we are designed to be violent. And we are violent. The same people in the video said that they have violent thoughts and don't act on them, but they simply haven't been put in the right situation for their violence to go beyond suppression. IF someone were to try to hurt their family, a man would become violent. If a man's partner were to die, eventually the man might move on to be with another partner. If a man's culture says that it's better for the tribe to have multiple partners, the man will do it. We are designed to have the capability. So the answer has to be yes... Everything else is cultural. Also this whole idea that we're "separate" from the animals is confusing too. It fits the story of original sin that our nature is somehow wrong. Now I do think that our nature can lead us to "miss the point"/"sin" in our civilizations, because we're out of date models for civilization. But there's also virtue in our nature as animals. We're predictable, we're cliché, and we're not that complicated. Like how 90% of all social media comments now begin with "As a woman" or "as a man". LOL. It's all ego. The bible is perhaps the rules for the egoic civilization perhaps. So the answer to the question must "not quite so". Maybe some day, but not for all days. I also think that people are just answering this question based on what they like. Very fun video as always though gang thanks for making me think again!
