Looks great bro 👍🦅. My muriatic acid always goes neutral sitting outside in the cold .

I think that's one of the reasons it took so long. The acid was pretty cool, and of course it works better warm.

When customization turns out that good it definitely increases the value imho . Especially to me . That’s all that matters is that you like it, and you do . I give it two thumbs up 👍👍

Thanks! I was definitely pleased with how it turned out. Especially since it was my first time doing an acid wash or a stone (brass) wash.

I'd call that a success, very Steampunk-like blade finish 🤠

Usually I'm pretty critical of my own creations, but I really like how this one turned out. The only small thing I can gripe about is that tiny bit of shiny steel showing when the blade is closed. But for just eyeballing it, it is about as close to perfect as I could expect to get.

@@BellowsBlades Don't worry, I'd say this is totally fine 👍

@Barney_Greenway BTW, I like your description of the blade finish. Mind if I use it, or a variation? I'm thinking I might start referring to this as my Apocalyptic Steampunk finish! 🤔😄

Have you tried ferric chloride? I ordered some from a blacksmithing supplier and it seems to work very well on the steels in screws and pocket clips, as well as swiss army knife parts which are both highly stainless and polished

I haven't. I can't find any locally and muriatic acid is easy to come by. From what I've heard, the ferric chloride would probably be a better option though.

NO, you just took away from the contour of the blade 😞

To each their own. I definitely like the new blade shape better. Not that I hated it before or anything.
