What do you mix sand with and what metal are you melting in order to make the required mold with it. Thank you
@dennyarcano2470
Normally, "green sand" is a mixture of fine quarz sand, bentonite (clay powder), water and coal powder. Another one is the petrobond, made of a special sand/clay mix and mineral oil. Is a lot finer and precise than green sand but is expensive and you waste a lot (burning out). You can regenerate it with oil bit not mucht times... green sand is a lot more versatile and cheap
@chawaisch

Here in pakistan it is basically mixture or sand and clay. Similarlay in furnace the same scrap material/metal is inserted to make it in liquid form then perform the precess of casting.
@random-kc8gx
This casting sand is made with sugarcane mollases and river sand, no water or clay is used. You would need a really big flask for greensand, there's barely any room. For commercial castings you'll get a good finish this way but this mold isnt very rigid when freshly made you do end up with mold wall movement and a not very good dimensional stability
