TLDR: Ranting about Amazing Spies This show was targeted to a younger audience but I absolutely hated this show as a kid. I tried to give it a chance when I heard it was a spinoff of TS, but this show for toddlers. The kids were SO annoying, the gadgets were lame (that's saying something when a boy prefers female accessories over whatever this show had), and just the whole feel of it was bad. I felt like I was watching a show for babies. Amazing Spies was the Ultimate Spiderman before that show existed. Even though I'm a guy Totally Spies was so cool to me, it had that PPG effect were everyone can enjoy despite being a different demographic. The female cast reminded me of Charlie's Angel's, I liked the spy themes, and they were all adults. It was like an adult centric Spy Kids! I loved how despite gadgets looking like common accessories that women use they were really creative. I got excited everytime they used the lipstick laser. I enjoyed coming home from school to watch Totally Spies. And was pissed when Cartoon Network started airing Amazing Spies a ton. KND also had spy themes with a kid cast, but that show didn't jiggle keys in my face, and had cool/relatable/memorable characters, and was better in every possible way. Seeing this show make Pan's worse list brings adult me, and kid me immense joy.

I've never even heard of Amazing Spies until now, which makes me wonder if this series even made it to the UK. I'm sure if it had been available to me and made a few years earlier I would have watched an episode or two because of the style, but it really does feel like an inferior version of KND lmao. As a baby weeb I used to love Totally Spies for pretty much the same reasons that you did (and the fact I seemed to love any cartoons that looked somewhat like Pokemon). I wish there were more shows like it for kids tbh. That kind of stuff served as inspiration for so many pretend adventures lol

It was only creepy because of those same "fetishes" were applied to boys even younger than the superspies we are familiar with. This show feels like a complete monkey's paw for Little Me. I would have loved a Totally Spies successor with a more male-centric leading cast...and then the finger curls as they also bring in all the fetish baggage and made it even creepier somehow
@princessmaly

With regards to the fetish fuel stuff, I was already in high school when I first saw TS, so I really have no idea what seeing the show was like from the perspective of the target demographic, but I think it's clear enough that the producers of TS at least knew exactly what they were doing as the show was way more extreme in that extent than even Penelope Pitstop. THAT makes me inclined to agree that this spin-off is... pretty creepy... But, I can imagine it's possible that to the kids watching this it might not have seemed that strange. Personally I never bothered watching this spin-off because, well... well I started watching TS in high school, I came for the college girls in catsuits getting tied up every episode and stayed because it was genuinely engaging and fun. I have zero interest in giving the same treatment to little boys.

In all seriousness: no, they really don't. At good 68-77% of the planet has never had access (because it's banned in too many places) to _Lolita (Novel)_ to understand what it means from that authors perspective, and the sanitized definition is sitting next the the _name_ Loli which, like, is whatever...the only people who _know (on top of the fact it's not explicitly sexual (while it _can_ be), more explicitly sexual from the 3rd parties perspective regardless of the actions of the 1st party...'cause, you know, that's how pedo's work...)_ are manga/anime-fans and people who don't live in shithole countries that also put these bombs on school book reading lists.

Like, I'm a guy who's open to taboo themes in fiction loli/shota doesn't necessarily bother me, my mind is generally as long as what happens in fiction stays in fiction you have a lot of leeway but that name just gives me pure bad vibes and is plain uncomfortable. Like the creators definitely knew what they were doing with that show, look at their other work. The way they went about a lot of what they made is just creepy especially so because it's being advertised as a family show, plus that name is just cringe incarnate.

Like, the last 16 episodes of season 2 (that never aired in the US), are the best ones of the bunch, I don't think Taxi ever watched them cause I don't see the clips from them in this video, I remember there was a Halloween special when some alien thing arrived on Earth and turned the Southdale high school into zombies, there was another one with an evil young Jerry clone (mirroring Tim Scam's first episode in the OG), there's was one with a batshit crazy astronout in the desert who wanted to turn the Earth's gravity off so he could go back to the real "Earth" and believed the Spiez were aliens, there was another one, 2 part episode, where Jerry lost his memory and fought alongside Terrence, the evil brother of Jerry from TS, and Sherry, the evil sister of Jerry that only appears in this series. Also, the WOOHP headquarters in season 6 of TS is based off The Amazing Spiez one, you can even see the bridge where an villain named Slick Mick tried to drag WOOHP building into the river, albeit I'm pretty sure it's from Season 1 of Spiez.

@@intoxishawn.I'm replying kind of late but my country's dub was actually just one guy doing all the voices over the english version (yes even megan and other women, I remember he did an impression for Sherry) you could still hear the original actors... That's why I kind of subconsciously had an odd feeling about Claire Redfield's voice when I played the original 1998 Resident Evil 2... both Claire and Megan are voiced by Alison Court in the eng dub... Also the show was probably licensed after it's end cheaply in my case as well... I cant find the dub online nor does that channel broadcast it still because I remember they directly translated english phrases that were incomprehensible in my language and also I want to find that dub not partially of nostalgia but because I don't remember how they pronounced the odd names like Clover I'm pretty sure it wasn't localized just directly translated but I'm not sure... I remember watching this show and I thought it was interesting, but being honest it never held up to me like Totally Spies did. The original Spies was a show I super enjoyed, even if it was really freaking weird. I honestly loved the spy action of three epic girls in catsuits kicking ass against a slew of villains of the week with weird and interesting (even if sometimes fetishy) plans and gimmicks. Amazing Spiez just felt like an inferior copy. While I don't have any animosity towards the show, looking back it was honestly a rather nothing show overall. I will admit some of the villains were interesting in concept (shout out to the villain who was a literal bee woman), but not much more than that. I think I remember reading somewhere Marathon had plans for a second spin-off called Jane the Spy. Wonder whatever happened to that one...

I really wish more people talked about Martin Mystery. Growing up in Canada, I never had the channel that would air Totally Spies, but I DID have the channel that aired episodes of Martin Mystery and it was one of my favorite cartoons as a kid. Using horror movie inspired titles for every episode name, the insane amount of nightmare fuel that went into each monster design, and the overall creepy atmosphere was second to none. I STILL want a U-Watch replica to this day. I didn't even find out about Totally Spies until years after Martin Mystery was over, and it amazed me that Totally Spies came out first, I always thought it was a spinoff of Martin Mystery.

I remember seeing an ad for this once or something. This must have been right before I stopped watching Cartoon Network and watched Adult Swim Exclusively (Which leads me to believe it was right before when Cartoon Network got rid of Toonami.) and going "A Totally Spies Sequel show where they are kids?.......Why?" and then didn't think about it until.......well now. Even moreso, this was before I was aware of the fetishy nature of the original show (I watched that show as a kid and was COMPLETELY OBLIVIOUS to all of that, all I knew was it was on after I got home from school alongside Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Code Lyoko, and other action cartoons, and it had action and looked close enough to anime and that was good enough for me.). That was the extent of my knowledge of this before the video. I will admit the old people wanting to cause Global warming and their motivation made me laugh though. 10:30 Whoa, whoa, whoa hold up, what's this Ankama levels of of animation quality where got here?
