intel needs to go back to 95w CPU's 105w max due to even AMD requiring that much not only is 125w - 253w is insanely hard to cool it's also awful for longevity
@dex6316

They don’t need to go that far down. People have been running overclocked intel chips for years in the 150-180 watt range on msdt. The 13/14600K go up to 181 watts and don’t have the stability issues that the higher end CPUs are displaying. Higher power means higher temperatures which mean more amps which is what causes degradation. Intel’s flagship CPUs regularly surpass 100 C and when you combine that with motherboard manufacturers pushing in over 300 and in some cases 400 watts, that’s when you see the issues that we are seeing here. Intel has said in the past that their P cores (back then normal cpu cores that are not atom cores as the P core terminology had not been invented yet) should never exceed 25 amps, which is exactly what is happening in the higher end Raptor Lake CPUs.
@Michael-uo4jj

@@dex6316 people overclocking doesn't matter, nowadays theres a reason people undervolt. stock shouldn't run higher than 105w theres no need and not to mention their stock coolers are basically irrelevant at 125w+ not everyone buying an i7 or i5 use it for Gaming it also need to be able to scale down for laptops and miniATX i really believe AMD and old intel were best.

Wattage doesn't change the longevity, single core peak voltage is what ruins them, and you're never anywhere near full boost during all core loads, running a CPU at 4.2GHz instead of 3.7GHz when it can peak at 5GHz, isn't going to hurt the core, it only consumes heaps more power. my 5900x is working well within spec when it's pulling 200w, remember one core running at 5GHz on a modern CPU is using >80w, at base clock it's using 10w, look at the eco modes halving the power usage and only loosing 10% performance. rapid heating, and large heat gradients between cores will IMHO be far worse than pure wattage, and that comes down technical implementations of core boosting and transient power management where TDP is meaningless.

Productivity benchmarks need to be redone as well. Hardware Unboxed did a gaming review of the 14900K at the old baseline level with ASUS (which is now considered "extreme") and overall it still does not beat the 7800X3D except for I believe 4 games out of 12. But now at 188w we should expect that to increase even more for X3D but now productivity benchmarks such as encoding need to be redone with 7950X

There are multiple reasons why one should consider buying a game in early access. First of all, you will have access to the final game but typically for a cheaper price. Second, if you care about the game, you can contribute to the development of the game with your comments and feedback to the dev team. And third, it's a sign of support for the indie teams who pour all their love, blood, and sweat into their games, who don't have access to/don't want to work with big publishers. In the case of Hades II, it already looks very polished and finished even in early access. I would definitely support the dev team because their track record shows how amazing they are. As a game developer myself, I know the struggles and I have the utmost respect for Supergiant Games and other similar indie teams who self-publish their games to be able to maintain the creative freedom that allows them to create such great experiences.

As of currently only 69 countries have official access to the Playstation Network. What is crazy is areas like Puerto Rico aren't technically covered, even if they can use the US network. There is some gray area there that could result in a ban. It's kind of insane looking at the list almost all of Africa is excluded and so is a large portion of South America. Outlying regions for Britain, and even France have zero coverage. It's absolutely crazy. I guess the cost to maintain infrastructure in those regions outweighs the benefits they get from them. But since Sony was willing to throw their golden goose of a game under the bus to increase their MAU numbers for PSN, I shouldn't be surprised.

You just described a Maserati 🤣, and of course the vast majority of Maserati buyers (as with Intel i9) are just buying it as shiny thing to put out without knowing what to use it for. If you are rendering you can probably build a whole dual socket 36 or 40 core x99 system for about the same as a single i9 chip. If gaming the 12700KF is under $200 new, and if you put the $200 or $300 you save into the GPU or an OLED monitor you're probably going to have a better experience. You gotta ask yourself what you are doing. (Also I cannot see paying more than $150, more likely $120 for a motherboard, but that's a whole different issue). People just spec out systems and spend $600+ more than they need to all day long.

Realistically most ITX cases could fit a MATX board, the designers just didn't try hard. I feel PIO does not even get a mention, mostly because it is a China market only thing. But its available in LGA 1700 for under $100 shipped if you can work TaoBao and shipper services. I made a 4060 LP system in a 1.9L case with some 8mm spacers for the lid.
