I'm not sure, but it needs to keep so much originals parts possible ... Here I think you changed to much parts, at the end the metal parts are half very old and half too good condition...

Not what I think of as a restoration. More of a de-crapifacation. If it were a car, it would be an example of a polished turd.

ok...I am a jeweler,I am a goldsmith........for....40 years.....I am mean as hell with that file....I kick butts with that torch......I could restore this back better than when new....way better than a factory built gun...I put my hands on it,its a mirror.....and all it cost you is 120 dollars per hour.....LOL..but I did quit when I turned 50 in 2017....I hung it up..Id been doing since a teenager and yeah,I owned the place, never had no boss in my life...but nice work on here......someone did call me out 6 months ago to make the wedding ring for him........I went to high school with him and never liked him even a little bit.....he hit me up on facebook and said make "this" for me so I did it for him......took less than one hour and I charged him 3500 dollars..........how many goldsmiths do you know?We can charge anything we want...hahaha....

I get your point. All the effort of making new parts for a wall hanger. I would think he's just making it look nice but he kept parts that are pitted, so who knows.
