Grant Stevens is back with a contribution to the Nightwing Training series. In this video, he explains the basics of Martial Arts Tricking - using martial arts kicks, explosive core strength, and body awareness to pull off some insane moves.
These are exactly the kinds of kicks and flips we see Nightwing using in the cartoons, films, and games. He uses these moves for parkour, for delivering powerful blows, and for evasion. Grant points out that Martial Arts Tricking is not particularly practical in a real fight, but it can nevertheless develop the kind of speed, power, proprioception, and control that you'd need to move and fight like Dick Grayson.
This video provides an overview of the fundamental XMA movements, as well as some advice on training and how to prioritize and structure your workouts.
