Back in 2001 when I first start skating, I rode switch for 6 months cause I didn't know I could change stances and i simply skated that way, sw heelflip was the third trick I ever landed 22 years ago, sw kickflip and sw b/s shove-it was the first and second tricks learned respectively, so it might be very unlikely I think it is possible to be in that 4%.

@@thyho if it’s your only stance, it’s not switch. “switch” is the opposite of whatever you’re best in. you just changed stances after 6 months. you started out goofy and now you’re regular (or vice versa).

@@frozennorth3426 It was definitely switch because it was uncomfortable to skate that way, the dude that gave me my first skate was goofy and I mimicked him until I figured out I could skate with my left foot in front.

Switch and nollie heels were always my worst of the straight 8. I had friends that were super good at them so I just tried getting good at other stuff. Though, I do remember the first one I landed. I had been trying back foot heelflips for some reason (actually landed a couple, had a phase where I tried a lot of late stuff) and after landing one fakie I just tried a switch heel and it worked first try. I tried probably for the next hour to land just one more, and couldn't do one... probably credit-carded myself in the process.

I put battle at the berrics on when I want to take a nap personally. Berra only cares about money, clout, and scientology, so it's no wonder it went to shit. It's just es game of skate without the organization and little tape rectangle on the floor.

was koston double dipping early days first seasons of batb and es games of skate?
@666shredordie
Жыл бұрын
@Dumb Data that style of competition was Kostons baby and he brought it to the Berrics so I wouldn't say that. Koston has been pretty brand loyal and seems like a genuine dude in a lot of ways. Berra is the capitalist. He used to be a vert skater and switched to street in the early 90s to maintain relevance. I saw an interview in a magazine from the early 90s where he said he's not a fan of flatground. If BATB lacks now in the opinions of fans it's most likely because of Koston being less involved.
@dumbdata34
Жыл бұрын
@@666shredordie agree with everything except koston being brand loyal - girl, numbers, skate mental, es, lakai, Nike. Nothing wrong with it if you’re going for the biggest payout but that’s not really brand loyal imo

@Dumb Data well that's why I said "pretty brand loyal" because being a professional skateboarder means you're making a living off of it so yeah you gotta do what you gotta do...but some people change sponsors like pants. Koston still rips though, does Berra even skate anymore? 😂

The technical reason why switch heels are easier than regular heels for a lot of people is simply because when doing a heelflip it acc helps to have ur shoulders square or even have them pointing backwards. So since most people ride switch with having their shoulders pointed backwards it makes switch heels easier.

He analyzed data. He doesn’t need to practice what he analizes, he needs to know how to quantify these tricks and make interesting data out of it. If a 10th grader made this as a school project, who never ever skated before, he would still have the same data. That’s the beauty of facts. Besides this, to be the skate nerd he is, it’s impossible to really think that this dude doesn’t skate. That’s a very stupid point to make. Why am I even replying? We are not on the same level
