Although this is a movie the look in Ann Margret’s eyes and Elvis looking in her eyes shows love. I’ve watched her movies with other men and she doesn’t have that same look as she did for Elvis and he for her. I think they deeply loved each other. It’s so heartbreaking to go through life loving someone so much but it’s not meant to be.

I believe personally, if not for Elvis' commitment to marry Priscilla to Priscilla's parents. Both Ann and Elvis would have been perfect as a couple (the first dance at their wedding would have been worth a music video in itself). Also, both in the 1970s had drug and alcohol addictions, so both would have understood each other's addictions a lot and the reasons especially as Ann overcame her addiction she would mostly likely have tried to help Elvis overcome his drug problems we will never know. Finally, Elvis' friends over the years have always spoken positively about Ann and how much she made Elvis happy during their time together and her personality, much more I say than Priscilla. They definitely clicked together on and off screen.

There's a LOT to like in this scene. The roulette wheel-shaped dance floor. The Swiss cheese-like structural elements connecting to the poles. The "Squat" dance which everyone can do in unison, and the guys who sing it. Elvis and Ann-Margret just happening to both be dressed in matching yellow outfits. Elvis just stepping up to belt out "What'd I Say", leading to every person in the entire club joining in on the call & response, and then frantically performing "The Dog" en masse.

Ballet was always her favorite - which to me seems like torture-porn on the body.

She would have been bored! The reason why they broke up was because he wanted her to quit her career and sit home and be a housewife just like Priscilla did. She did not want to do that, plus he cheated on every girl he ever had with 2 or 3 at a time and Ann-Margaret would have been no different. Priscilla was at home in Memphis while this was being made.

Racial integration by having a black, non-Elvis quartet lead a dance number in an Elvis movie. Elvis was already a known singer, so you would expect his character to always have singing privilege during his scenes. Here, Lucky Jackson is silent at the beginning and let the Forte Four lead. Even singing a Ray Charles song was a sign that segregation was dying fast. That was not definitely not taking credit away from Ray, as "What'd I Say" was already was one of his known songs.

I am confused, did Ann Margret and Elvis just have one daughter or did they also have twin boys? I know that Graceland was named after Ann. Grace is her middle name. A friend told me Ann Margret and George Burns had a son and his name was Ronnie Burns. I looked up Ronnie Burns name and he was an actor but he has passed away. Ronnie left his wig business to his Mom and I feel sure that is true because Ann wears lots of wigs since she gets them wholesale.
