Great videos! I'm truly enjoying your journey. Personally, I LOVE your "blended" filming style, trail shots, landscape shots, narration, and your interactive shots (facing the camera), sharing the hostels and stops along the way, I just truly enjoy your vlog style. Thanks for sharing. 🙂

I love watching your walk. I’ve watched others and they are focused solely on time and finishing instead enjoying where you are. I think you are enjoying your walk. It’s my dream to do the AT and I am inspired by your work. Thanks.

Julius Caesar was the first person to add a leap day to his Julian calendar. Leap day was February 24. The Julian calendar had February as the last month of the year. In 1582, it was Pope Gregory XIII that introduced the Gregorian Calendar. This calendar is what is used today. It used a more precise formula for calculation of a leap year every 4 years. FYI there was a February 30, 1712 in Sweden and a February 30th in Russia in the 30’s. At the time, during the Russian Revolution, a 5 day a week calendar was used so each month had 30 days. I read the book “The Calendar : The 5000 Year Struggle to Align the Clock and the Heavens and What Happened to the Missing Ten Days?” By David Ewing Duncan. Most interesting. Thanks for your Vlog. Your effort is much appreciated. Happy Trails!

Great shots up at the top of Wayah Fire Tower and I appreciate you including the information signs aa well. Just a suggestion: most of the signs that you encounter will include a nice representation of the mountain peaks from your viewpoint. In many cases, those mountain peaks will include the ones you would have traversed earlier in your AT journey and it’s real neat and satisfying to appreciate the distance you’ve covered now that you’ve put in 100+ miles. For example. From the Albert Mt. Fire Tower, the sign details a great panorama including the formidable Standing Indian Mountain you summited the previous day. Now at Wayah Fire Tower, now you get a long range view of Standing Indian, this time way in the distance. Take a moment to revel in your accomplishment! Peakfinder is neat app that will identify peaks in mountain ranges when information signs are not an option. Several Fire Towers are and mountain bald viewpoints are just ahead in your trek, Cheoah, Wesser, Shuckstack just to name a few 👍. Keep on truckin’!

One of our teachers back in elementary school taught us an easy way to remember leap year, every 4 years, is that it always falls on presidential election years👍. Gorgeous views!

Every year divisible by 4 in my lifetime; I've read somewhere that the end of a century it has to be divisible by 400. So 2000 was but 1900 & 2100 aren't - go figure - somebody has!😅 BTW - I like my centuries to end with a zero, because they do!

I use Altra Lone Peak trail runners. I love them and they are doing great so far. You just need to ditch the insoles and put in some Superfeet trailblazers
